Doctor Who SE04 EP12: The Stolen Earth (Spoilers!)

Went back and rewatched episode 8, and I'm still convinced River Song's wording could go either way. She makes two comments that directly or indirectly reference his appearance, so far as I could tell.

At first she says, "Going by your face, I'd say it's early days for you, yes?" which is the closest she comes to saying that this is the same Doctor she knows (physically). I still say it could be interpreted differently, though- "going by your face" could easily refer to his expression, which is one of puzzlement. She seems (to me) to mostly be looking at his eyes.

Then, just a bit later, she makes the comment about "Look at you. You're young." So, obviously she knows him as an older man- either older in this form, or else just an older body in general. But she doesn't stop there, "Your eyes. You're younger than I've ever seen you."

That last bit, to me, is what really makes it sound like Ten is a different Doctor than any/all of the others she's known before.

In any case, who knows. I imagine at some point we'll get some kind of continuation of the River Song/Doctor story.

But I still maintain - if she knew a future incarnation, and was surprised when a previous incarnation did not recognise her (you miss out the "You really don't recognise me, do you?" bit, and the "Ah, we haven't met yet?" bit), the Doctor starts hanging out with some real idiots (or amnesiacs) in the future!

Nah, it takes some real stretching to make it fit that hypothesis (with all due respect). I do get your point that somehow she is not aware of what his previous incarnations looked like (despite being, seemingly, married to him, knowing his true name, presumably having access to media, etc.), but it just seems so unlikely.

Especially when the simple, easy explanation is: he looks like Tennant when he hooks up with her. That requires no hypothesis, theory or assumption; it's the answer that works perfectly. Why try to shoehorn a different version in there?

I'm kinda hoping River will be the companion for season 5,
and that she'll stick around longer than the previous companions of the revived series (2, 1, and 1 season, respectively).

'Cause we're a buncha fan boys and we come up with a whole mess of ideas and schemes and theories and what not about everything right down to the significance of the placement of the bolts along the wall.

I’ve got a hunch that she will be an unseen companion. Someone who travels with the Doctor between the adventures we witness on the Teley.
