I hereby declare that all important comments on this subject have already been made, and that this thread is dead. Both sides have made their point, no one is going to change their mind, and there is no purpose to continuing. Anybody who continues to post in this thread is beating a dead horse, and I shall endeavor to respond to each one of them individually to tell them so.
I have explained my point over and over again, using the exact same words each time so as not to provide any additional insight, and yet you still refuse to admit I'm right. I only have one option remaining.

I'll just have to do it again, using the exact same words, only this time I'll use CAPS and bold and italics to emphasize a few words that I think are important but will make no sense to anyone else.

I wish to insult your grammar and spelling, but I am concerned that doing so will result in moderator action. I therefore suggest that you are a non native speaker of English, that your English is superior to the ability of your critics to speak your native tongue, and that your incomprehensibility should be above criticism.

How old are you? You're clearly some 13-year-old fanboy, so any comment you might have about spelling and grammar will be illegible anyway. Plus, I'm badass because I don't care if the mods ban me for saying that.

I illustrate my point with an example so exaggerated that my original position is undermined by the apparent straw man nature of my latest post.

I assure you that I am a gamer of extraordinary vintage. I am familiar with every last edition of D&D ever to be published, and have been playing since before your earliest recorded ancestor was born. Gaming was real gaming back then, and we took it seriously. Men died in those games. My LARP group once sacked Rome.

I'd like to show how ridiculous your example is by making an equally ridiculous but contrasting example, probably involving interstellar travel and the effects on a d20 roll of living at the bottom of the ocean.

The first printing of CHAINMAIL is the only true game.

All others are pale imitations.
Bah! Any game that uses something other than a hunk of wood as a randomizer is simply a piece of new-fangled crap!
