D&D 4E Does anyone agree with me about 4E?

WOTC is a company and it is their job to convince me to purchase their products.

What I would find most convincing at this point would be if Mike Mearls were to wash my car.

Mr. Mearls: I thank you in advance for your rapid compliance. I will keep you apprised of updates regarding my changing needs as the release date for 4e draws near.

This is the sort of action we need from the developers - they need to go the extra miles for the customer. By which I mean only me and not the rest of you.

Unless I get some developers over here washing my car and mowing my lawn straight away I will refuse to use any free online material they produce or pirate any of their products.

Inapproriate but obligatory smiley:

I would like to take the time, and in fact will take the time, to declare the very obvious - EN World forum folk, who have a post count greater or equal to my post count +1, are extremely intelligent and humorous folk. Obviously this is my attempt to demean you all. May the trolladrins bless you in your future gaming endeavors.

(the absence of a smiley is indicative of a great and powerful loathing for all that you hold dear)

What I think everyone is losing sight of is the simple fact that my preferred methods for pretending to be elves and wizards are perfect, and inherently superior to your preferred methods. If everyone would just realize this, all issues would finally be solved.

I'd like to take the time to point out that your preferred method of playing elves and wizards is only due to the fact that you don't believe elves and wizards are real, and if you were less detached and paid more attention to reality (like me) you would actually have wizard and elf friends you could role model your characters after.

If the mystery race is troll, I might as well go back to playing WoW, where I played the sexiest troll rogue of all servers.

Sacrilege!

I only play the original edition of the game, which is of course absolutely perfect and should never have been changed. Except, of course, by all the house rules I have adapted from later editions, such that I don't even really play the edition I claim to play, but rather a nearly-unrecognizable mishmash of editions. Of course, anyone who plays a later edition is merely a fanboy, even if the rules he uses are very similar to mine.

Have you seen the latest info? I can't believe the stuff that WotC is forcing us to use in 4E! Absolutely everything included in the previous editions' PHBs were universally applicable to all possible D&D campaigns, but the new stuff that's going to be in 4E is just so strange and bizarre (that is, new) that it won't have a place in anyone's campaign! They should stick all this new stuff in the setting supplements. No one needs new things, just slightly different versions of old things!

Who agrees with me about 4E?

Personally, I am enraged that my Chosen Campaign Setting, Dark Sun, will not be instantly and transparently compatible with the Fourth Edition default setting. This clearly shows that WOTC is turning its back on its 3e players, most of whom loved the many high quality 3e Dark Sun products.

And don't get me started on Planescape.

Also, I am enraged that WOTC is selling preview books. They should give us previews for free like they did back when they put previews in Dragon magazine, which I plucked fresh every morning from the Dragon Magazine Tree in my back yard.

I'm tired of everyone complaining about all these changes. So what if the new PC race is Human Feces? Human Feces is new, and is therefor obviously a good thing to have sitting around. If you don't like having Human Feces in your game, just pretend Human Feces isn't there. It shouldn't bother you if you have to look at pictures of Human Feces every time you want to reference the rules.
