Does Anyone here watch Alias?

It would be kinda cool to have a weekly Alias thread.
Was just wondering what people thought of the season opener. It definitely grabbed my interest. It didn't involve too much stuff from the previous season that a newbie couldn't watch it and understand what was going on.
I like the black ops thing that they are doing.
I don't like the Nadia killing her mother's killer thing because it is inevitable that she will find out it was Jack.
I wonder how devious Sloane is going to be this season. He's in for something but I just have to figure out for what. I like that everyone took the job just to keep an eye on him. He is a good character.
Anyway.... any thoughts or comments??

Big spoilers of the season opener and previous seasons' events will follow:

I want to know what the Rimbaldi artifact was that Sloane used to buy his way back into the CIA. It's got to be something exceptionally cool if they're willing to trust him even a little once more.

And I really like that Nadia is going to be a regular--she's even prettier than Sydney, for one, and the fact that she'll also be interacting with Sloane, who horribly misused her for the Rimbaldi deal last season makes it even better. Her discovering that Jack killed her mom won't be as big of a deal, I think. Especially once it's made clear that Jack did it to save Sydney's life. I don't understand why Sydney didn't just tell her that in Moscow by Irina's grave though. Sure, Nadia would've freaked, but would've had the whole plane ride back to LA to deal with it.

And I hope that the pudgy, funny guy (you know, Vaughn's friend at the CIA) ends up working for APO. Or, even better, becomes a bad guy--wow would that be a surprise to everyone!

Oh, and I totally guessed that the samurai dude and Vadiq (sp?) were the same guy. Nonetheless, I thought it was a great, great episode and I'm glad JJ Abrahms is writing for the show again.

The guy that play Vadiq, who is he? I know I've seen him somewhere before...

Anyhow, to the show:

I thought the season opener was a good one. The train scene seemed to me like the equivalent of the airplane scene from the middle of season 2 (y'know, the one where the Alliance fell apart).

I'm so glad they got Marshal into the APO. He's got to be my favorite character. And the fake arrest for him using a PS2 on CIA property was just genius.

Glad Nadia's gonna be a regular, too . Sydney's new cover being the same as her SD6 one was pretty good too.

Anyhow, I really hope they have a lot more focus on the Rembaldi story-arc this season. That's probably been my favorite thing about the show. And Sloane, man I wonder what he's got up his sleeve this season. Also, what was it that he and Nadia found out from the Rembaldi code she wrote. I know it's supposed to be the location of Rembaldi, but what did they find? That's the big question I want answered this season.

I haven't seen the season premiere yet, but a few random comments:

I don't get what people have been complaining about in last season. Yeah, it
wasn't as good as season 2, but I thought it was greatly superior to season 1
(which I did't think that much of, I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it like season 2).

Granted, Lauren really sucked. Yuck.

I miss Will. Francie, not so much.

You can't kill of Sloane. Sloane is the archnemesis. Sure, write him out for a bit,
y'know, he disappears or something, but in the end, the final epidsode, the big
climax (or anticlimax), he has to be there. He's the center figure in the whole
Rambaldi Device metaplot. He's the Gul Dukat. The Q. The Cigarette Smoking
Man. The Hellmouth. The Senior Partners. The Janeway. Y’know.

Sark you can kill. But it has to be kewl. I love his rogue-ish only-out-for-his-own
-skin arse. Still, I’d miss him.

The whole hold-me/let-me-go thing between Syd and Vaughn is getting tired.
They tried to give it a spin with Lauren's inclusion, but I think it's time for them to
just get together, be happy for a bit and move into new story territory. If you can't
get old drama to work, don't milk it but bring in some new drama instead. You
can maybe revisit it later on.

Jack is as totally kewl as always. Go Jack!

More Tarantino!

One thing in particular I liked about last season was Syd's attitude. For once, we
finally got to see her shoot someone. Gawd! I was getting *so* tired of her
fighting someone just so he'd fall onto his knife or get shot in the back by
someone else. Syd's a nice gal, I get it, but damnit, she's still a frickin' superspy!

I see it the other way. It won't matter to Nadia that he killed her mother to save Sydney. She is still going to see him as the murderer no matter what. Jack means nothing to Nadia. Also you can see where this arc is going. By the end of the season Nadia will have figured it out and Sydney will have to try and stop her from killing her father. Also Sloan knows the whos and whys behind her murder/execution. Whats to say he doesn't leak the info to his daughter to gain some of her trust back. Jack and Sydney both played him in MI-6(?), who is to say he does not want to get back at them.

I did watch Alias Season 1 version 4 as well.

My interest in the series definitely peaked, since I have to ask a question. I thought the safety deposit box held the report on Sydney being a super agent from Project Christmas or whatever. Not the order to kill her mother as she told Vaughn (I thought she was lying).

This was the first time I watched the show and I really enjoyed it. And the time slots perfect too.
I had no problem following along despite the fact that I had very little knowledge going in, so good job on that front too.

Yeah, Eric Weiss. I don't know why, but I think that guy is great. I hope we continue to see more of him.

And I hope we see more of Sark. A great villain for that show, and I think it'd be a shame to lose him. He kicks ass. (Even the token comment about him by Marshall was hilarious.)

And I sure hope it's not the end of the Rimbaldi story... every episode that had something about Rimbaldi was always a good one for me. Hope they didn't just drop it...

Edit: And like at least one other, I'm tired of Syndey and Vaughn. I'm hoping Vaughn will get blown away but good, and soon (though I know that's not going to happen). Dixon is Sydney's spy partner. Period.

And Jack indeed does rock, and always will.

Yeah, Eric Weiss. I don't know why, but I think that guy is great. I hope we continue to see more of him.

He's a more laid-back guy who creates a good contrast with the otherwise
overstressed spy staff. He's the best friend that helps the drama queens
see things in the right perspective without being overly mightier-than-thou.

He's a good guy.

Which is why he'd make a great villain. Especially if he sees it as doing the
villainy things for a really worthy cause. As doing The Right Thing.

Edit: And like at least one other, I'm tired of Syndey and Vaughn. I'm hoping Vaughn will get blown away but good, and soon (though I know that's not going to happen).

Well, I don't want to see him dead, but yeah. It's gettin' *really* burned out.

And Jack indeed does rock, and always will.
