Yeah this season has lost some of its luster. What drove me through alias is 1st and some of second season always ended an episode during the first 10 minutes of the next week. Good old clifhangers, it was like a ride I coul'nt get off. Of course I watched the first two seasons on DVD before starting to follow the show as broadcast. well almost, my lovely wife actually tapes it for me.

Last season felt a bit slow when compared to first and second, but it was still very much Alias.

This season, so far, just isn't.

My wife and I were discussing this last week. We feel like the show is on a fast fade right now.

I don't know if there has been a massive change in the writing team or what has happened but it definitely doesn't have the interest for me that it used to.

While my fiancee and I were big fans from the beginning, but now both of us are a bit uninterested in the show. The one shot episodes that don't ever refer to anything else kinda sucks. I liked a story that was good and kept you watching from week to week to see what esle would unfold. I think the only reason I am still watching it week to week is because it is on after Lost. Who knows, maybe the season will pick up yet.

The show has always been at its best when Rambaldi was somewhere in there. I, too, have found most of last season and the majority of this season somewhat dissappointing. The first 2 seasons were just so damn good that it may never reach that high again. I have a feeling that the season will pick up as it has been the last few weeks.

The good thing is that Jack and Sloan are still hiding something from the rest of the group. Sloan is still scum and will betray everyone in the end. We still don't know what the deal was with David Carradine's character. There are many mysteries that still need to be revealed but they need to concentrate on those things.

The show has lost something since Francie and Will are now both out of the picture. There is no double-life drama and the show certainly feels less "real." This season needs a Big Bad. Now. I have a feeling that Anna Espinoza will be killed soon, which is a shame as she should be on the show until the end. She is the anti-Syd.

I miss Will although I think Eric has made a pretty good job of replacing
him, at least in some ways. Francie I don't miss.

One thing that I found odd, though, is that the Covenant seems to be
disbanded. Did I miss something? Why? Because they killed Lauren and
captured Sark? Did it happen off-screen?

Weiss has always been a cool character.

I almost wish that the old days of having the team answer to someone were back. The whole "license to do whatever the hell we want" is neat but it cuts out some of the drama. Again, I think it comes down to having a good/worthy adversary. MAybe the Followers of Rambaldi can provide that spark. APO has limitless resources so they need an enemy with more (?) limitless resources. Ack. Brain cramp.
