For "Monsters as PC races", do they have proper racial write-ups as seen in the PHB, annotated write-ups, or suggested ideas on how to adjust for a PC race? I'm assuming the limit is humanoids up to 2 HD, but what about, say, Minotaurs?

Also, any Half-Giant/Goliath love? Or Changeling or Warforged?

As far as I know such things will be covered in the DMG.

I don't know how much of this is new. They are, in fact crazy spawning frog monsters. They originate from a Spawning Stone the modron Primus cast into Limbo. As such, they hate modrons and will attack them on sight.

And they've still got the ability to lay eggs in your chest.

You have made my day (I guess it doesn't take much these days), thank you.

There are a couple of templates (half-dragon and vampire) that say what changes to make to a PC to give it the template. But there are no races with playable stats spelled out.

I think it's not too difficult to reverse engineer something close, but that's what a DM would have to do.

Thanks! And what's their alignment these days?

Imps are actually in the PHB, precisely because they're infernal-pact familiars. Though oddly, they're CR 1/4 there.

They are all neutral evil.

EDIT: I think the variant is that you get the full imp and some magic resistance. But you're trading your soul for the bargain.

So what does the Mind Flayer 's Mind blast do this time around? 1e was Chartastic, 2e to 3e was "Sit there and Suck" and I can't recall what 4 did to it.

Mind Blast is one of the three Int saves in the book. Failure means damage and stunned for a minute, reacting the save each round.
