Does anyspell cast the spell as arcane or divine? [2005 thread]

Which, as I read the postings, would allow you to violate the core requirement for PrC. That is a character can not meet the prerequisite any earlier than 5th level and not take the first level of PrC until the charater's 6th level. This was a specific addition to the 3.5 rules that was not included in the 3.0 ones. As I read the posts you would then have 3 levels of divine and 1 of arcane (total of 4th level).

As the class is written you still couldn't take the class till 6th level. It requires 8 ranks in two skills. Below is the requirements of the class as written in More Divinity.

REQUIREMENTS
To qualify to become a dweomerkeeper, a character
must fulfill all the following criteria.
Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 8 ranks, Spellcraft
8 ranks.
Feats: Any item creation feat and any metamagic
feat.
Spells: Ability to cast arcane and divine spells.
Domain: Magic.
Special: The candidate must have created at least
one magic item, whether of a permanent nature or not.

OMG, I'd seriously suggest using the original version of the Dweomer Keeper PrC as found in FR's Faith & Pantheons as opposed to the CD WE version, egads! What on earth did they do to that poor nice PrC? They made it more powerful *and* cut back on a few of the prereqs for entry. Here are the requirements for the original FR version lol.

Requirements
Race: Human
Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 8 ranks, Spellcraft 8 ranks
Feats: Any item creation feat, any metamagic feat, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Shuriken), plus one of the following metamagic feats: Delay Spell, Persistent Spell, or Twin Spell.
Spells: Ability to cast 2nd level arcane and divine spells. Able to cast divine magic.
Domain: Magic or Spell
Patron: Mystra
Special: The character must have created at least one magic item, whether not of a permanent nature. The character cannot have the Shadow Weave Magic feat.

Do you know where I'd find that? I'm away from the DMG right now, but it's not in the SRD.

That’s because the SRD doesn’t have the section from the DMG on designing prestige classes (pg 197).

“When designing a prestige class, make sure that characters must be at least 5th level before they can meet the entry requirements.”

I hadn't seen all of the prerequisites and was only going on the needs X levels of arcan and divine casters.

You could meet this then, although there is obviously a reason they included the caster issues here - usually it is to slow down spellcasting because the PrC is generally too powerful without it.

Note that taking a single level of wizard would give your character the ability to cast arcane spells, scribe scroll feat (hence the ability to make a magic item without having to spend on a separate feat) some 0 and 1st level wizard spells and the ability to gain a familiar (although you'd have to spend some money to gain one if your first level wasn't of wizard). Pretty lot of bang for the buck for taking a single level. IMO this is the biggest bang for the buck if your are seriously thinking of taking the Prestige Class.

I guess this is a three-year-old thread at this point, but since I'm trying to make a character very similar to this one...

Would taking a feat like Magical Training also qualify you for this PrC? Magical Training allows you to cast three cantrips a day as either a sorcerer or wizard (your choice).
