There are several prestige classes that give domains, and one of them specify that you must have domain access beforehand. Stuck at work, so don't know which ones, although Contemplative comes to mind, he gets 2.

Two part question....

I know that prestige classes will say that you get a domain....the question is if you are not a cleric do you get it.....

If a Druid takes a prestige class does he get access to the domain and hence their spells

Paladin, Ranger same question....

No. This was answered in the other thread you started. Asking it again won't change the answer.

[Edit: That is to say, if you're not a cleric, you're not treated as if you have access to a domain, for the purposes of meeting PrC prerequisites. However, assuming you get into the PrC somehow, you can still gain the benefits of any granted prestige domains regardless of what class you had before.]

Wait a sec... where in the rulkes does it day only clerics get prestige domains?

It doesn't, nor do the rules say that clerics get prestige domains either.

The only way to get prestige domains (as it currently stands) is to take a prestige class that grants them. The prestige domain is a benefit of the prestige class, not whatever class you happened to have beforehand. However, all the PrCs that grant prestige domains also have the requirement that you must have some domain or other before taking that class, which essentially means that you must have cleric levels to take these PrCs.

i would say that if a prestige class does not say that casting divine spells is a prerequisite, and it gives domains/divine spells, i would start the character at casting level 1 cleric. what does that hurt? at the verry least, i would give the character the granted power of the domains (after all, he is taking a prestige class where the main benefit is probably spells) with that said, all of the prestige classes i have seen say +1 level of existing spellcasting class or something similar. HOWEVER if a player in one of my games took a single level in the class just because he wanted the granted power of the prestige domains, i would require some really nice roleplaying to not lose them.

Yes, they do. It is explained on page 77 of Defenders of the Faith. It states:
"If a noncleric enters a prestige class that allows acces to a prestige domain, the character generally does gain access to the domain. She can use the granted power bestowed by the domain normally. If she is a divine caster (druid, paladin, or ranger), each day she can cast one extra spell of each spell level to which she normally has access, which must be the spell from the prestige domain for that level. If she is an arcane spellcaster (wizard, sorceror, or bard), the domain spells are added to her spells known--scribed in a wizard's spellbook, or added to a sorceror or bard's list of known spells, in addition to the character's normal number."

I would rule that it functions the same way for prestige classes that grant access to additional normal domains, such as the Divine Disciple.

[Edit] The only case where this wouldn't apply is with the Fleet Runner of Ehlonna PrC. It grants an additional domain, but specifically states "Fleet runners without a level of cleric gain no benefit from this granted ability." [/Edit]

This is not true at all. Most of the PrC that give prestige domains don't have any requirements related to having domains.

The only Prestige Classes that have any prerequisites relating to domains at all are the Master of Shrouds, Dreadmaster, Dancer of Sharess, Nightcloak, Silverstar, and the Warpriest, and only one of those (the Warpriest) grants access to a Prestige Domain.
