D&D 3E/3.5 Double weapons: quick question (3.5e)

I have had a mental blank. I have a character in my game with a melee attack of 10/5 who is using a quaterstaff. If he chose to use it as a double weapon, his attack bonus would be +6/+1 and +2 wouldn't it?

(He has no two-weapon fighting feats).

No TWF feats?

He attacks with +6/+2/+1, right. The +2 is the offhand attack (half strength bonus).
His penalty is -6 for the main hand and -10 for the offhand, reduced by 2 each cuz of the "light" offhand weapon while using a doubleweapon.

Yep, that's what i thought. He's actually a druid, but he sometimes (not often) uses it as a double weapon.
