Draconomicon - anyone else think this is exciting?

I might get pelted by rotten fruit for this, but how about drow? There's a lot of FR material for them (even more if you count 2nd Ed.), but not a lot of generic material for use in any campaign. And they're definitely one of the classic D&D villains.
No thrown fruit from me. I would buy a WotC produced drow-focused HC sourcebook in a moment. Sure, the Underdark will have drow in it, but not as the focus. Heck, I would even settle for an updated version of the Menzo boxed set for the FR... :)

Does anyone else think it would be neat to do a Draconomicon-style book about, say, all things undead? Give lots of notes about how undead function in the world of the living, what their non-PC-slaying activities are, why someone would become a lich, new undead types, etc?

This may be a stretch, but I even know what they can call it, The
Necronomicon. Seriously though it'd be cool to hit all the subtypes, goblinoid, etc... as long as it didn't turn into 100 30-page books like the Slayer's Guide series.

I'm also going to stand alone and say I like templates and prestige-classes just make sure you keep a consistent flavor for which you allow or even better yet have the players role-play their way into the class. That makes it pretty hard to have 6 different classes if they're trying to make their way into them and still participate with the rest of the group.

I'm not, as yet, interested in what James Wyatt has to say about dragons; it might be wonderful -- amid all the damnable rules stuff -- but what reason is there to think so? Whereas I love the Slayer's Guide to Dragons to read about what D&D dragons were like all along from their creator, and "Wyrms of the North" to read about Ed Greenwood's dragons in the Realms. What dragons will the new Draconomicon be about? What's the vision, what's the context?

What about Fey? It would fit the "art heavy" style well, and with fey getting a revision in 3.5, there is PLENTY for them to cover.
New Fey, like sidhe, gorse, and petty faries.
Sylvan woods and glens
The Faerie Court (Titania and Oberron)
Fey Feats, spells, and PrCs (natch)
The Plane of Faerie detailed.
Corrupted and Evil Fey, like changlings.
Leperchauns, Brownies.
An explanation on the half-fey and feytouched.

Dragons (Draconomicon)
Undead (Necronomicon)
Fey (Sylvonomicon)
Outsiders (Fiends, Celestials, etc.) (Planonomicon)
Goblinoids (Goblonomicon)
Constructs (Autonomicon)
Giants (Gigantonomicon)

That'd probably be my ideal list.

Beholders and Illithids are unlikely, since they're not OGL, but maybe WotC will shell out for it...? I mean, they've done books on 'em in the past (Eye, Tyrant; and ......(mumblme-mumble-forgotten-name-mumble))....I mean, *I'd* certainly shell out for 'em...:)

Well, since Boz is shamelessly promoting, I don't feel quite so bad about this:
For all those of you who mentioned a love of, and a lack of, slaadi, have you seen this?

Yes, I'm a terrible person.
But anyway, on topic, I would pay good money for books a la the Draconomicon on the undead, fey, beholders, illithids, goblinoids, any variety of outsiders, giants, constructs, you name it. I'm a sucker for good art and lots of fluff.

Demiurge out.

Oooh, Mercury dragons. And steel dragons. And, hopefully, Greyhawk dragons....
Didn't you hear? The Greyhawk dragons will be in an upcoming Forgotten Realms book. (No, not really. But with the "kitchen sink" mentality of the Realms, it wouldn't surprise me much.)

In all seriousness, though, I'd really like to see a Necronomicon. I love undead goodness (er... um... something like that). As a vampire fanboy, I'm drawn to anything that involves the difinitive undead. I use all forms of nightwalkers in my games, though. Something to spice it up would be great.

Depending on how it was done, I'd also be tickled to see a book of fiends. My hope there is that it would resemble PlaneScape nil (I think campaigns should focus on the Prime with only occasional trips beyond). Instead, I'd want to see something about how fiends tempt mortals and why they might do so (a list of conjectures, rather than a decree would be best). The BoVD was a decent start (in some ways), but I'd like to see a bit more in depth treatise on just fiends.
