Dragon 367 Class Acts Swordmage question

I'm looking at the compilation. On p 56 there is a class power called Dimensional Thunder.

I'm a little confused by the first Effect line. The only way I can have it make sense in my head is if the effect line happens before the attack (basically, teleport, then attack in melee range, cause damage if hit, and then cause ongoing damage).

As written, with the attack happening first (and not being a ranged attack) I'm not sure how the teleport happens between attacking and causing damage.

But I thought I'd ask how it's supposed to work in case I'm just being dumb and not figuring it out right.

The power doesn't make any special target provisions, nor does it say that you teleport to the target of the attack. It appears that the way it works is thus:

1) You attack an enemy with your melee weapon.

2) You teleport.

3) The target of the attack takes the listed damage.

4) Enemies adjacent to your destination take ongoing 5 thunder damage (save ends).

Ah, okay, that is something i didn't consider (the attack and damage happens at starting location ) and effect damage happens at destination. I was thinking it was everything happens at your destination (no attack happening at the point you started from, but instead attacking one target at destination at everyone at destination taking the ongoing damage).

What you said works with how it's written and makes sense now.
