Dragon Sorcerers: Stack?

Just a quick question. If you give a Dragon levels in sorcerer, does it stack with their existing, innate sorcerer casting levels, or do they just get more lower level spells?

From the Monster Manual, under Improving Monsters:

A spellcasting class is an associated class for a creature that already has the ability to cast spells as a character of the class in question, since the monster’s levels in the spellcasting class stack with its innate spellcasting ability.

they stack for purposes of spell casting ... but other abilities tied to the class do not (well fine, it's just Familiars ) ...

anyway a dragon with 7th lvl sorceror abilities that takes 1 class lvl in sorc, would cast spells as an 8th lvl caster.

its familiar on the other hand would only have 1st lvl sorc abilities listed for familiars ... and a whole lotta hp
