D&D 5E (2014) Dragon Talk: D&D News, Theros Interview, LYSK Nautiliods & Duergar

Yeeeeaaaah, Mindflayer plot AP incoming from Perkins methinks.

There has honestly been so much (albeit circumstantial) evidence for this...

  • Hints of Lantan, a great place to jump from Forgotten Realms to Spelljammer.
  • The persistent jokes/hints of Spelljammer being around the corner.
  • Perkins hints that the next AP has a horror theme (and the Mind Flayers are very eldritch horror).
  • Perkins saying he knows how to add a gnome mind flayer in his next project.
  • The obvious and easy tie-in to the BG3 game.

Nothing confirmed obviously, but I don't see a better explanation for what these all point to...

I don't know how long this link will work for, I hate twitch, wish they just used used YouTube live streaming.

Anyway alot of interesting stuff here, soooo much good stuff.

I think they usually put these sorts of things up on YouTube about a week after they air them on Twitch. Break it up into smaller segments too.

DId they discuss how these mythic monsters differ from legendary monsters? My understanding is that there are supposed to be some new mechanics involved.

Well if I remember right their is some kind of mid battle ability that triggers, that changes things and even goes with flavour text the DM reads out to the players. That's the big thing that I remember.

Some cool points, for Supernatural Gift you can choose Forged by Purphoros, which makes you a living construct like warforged, except you keep your normal race as well, plus your hand made by a God, so that is awesome.

Okay, now I definitely have to get this book. Godlike cyborgs from the future are a BIG part of my interpretation of Eberron. Switching out Hephaestus for something more Sci-Fi shouldn’t be too hard.

The LYSK on Nautiliods talked about various kinds of Mindflayer ships. Nautiliods have viens running through them, with Humaniod Brains pumped through them to kind of act like the ships computer.

Ooh! I love the imagery. So gross and bizarre!
