Only 1 single new DM I've ever seen did so, and even then she adjusted encounters and some of the flavor and plot elements a bit to better suit the group.

Also, I can’t take it seriously as Dragonlance in FR with no Lances, no riding good dragons, etc.

Hell, even without taking it as that, I want to ride a silver dragon into battle against evil Knights upon chromatic dragons.

It has been a long time since I read the books, but I don't remember any riding of good dragons or a lance in the original 3 novels. Am I wrong?

Its a plot point in the third novel. Flint and Tasslehoff even get their own mount.

Thanks! I didn’t remember that.

However, it does kind of prove the point that dragon mounts and lances are not necessary for a dragonlance story. I mean the Takhisis wasn’t even taken down with lance.

Are dragonlances and riding dragons and mid-air draconic jousts necessary?

No.

Are they awesome?
