Dragon themed fighter

Hi all,

I'm looking to create a dragon-themed fighter, for use as either an NPC when I DM, or as a character when I play.

A few conditions: must be human (or other PHB race), must be fighter only (no Multiclassing as a Dragon Shaman or Sorcerer). PrC's are fine, so long as a fighter can qualify. WotC sources only, if possible. Probably somewhere between level 7 and 10...

Mostly looking for feats, PrCs, gear and other variables that have a dragon theme - more like dragon inspired warrior rather than dragon slayer.

Early in 3rd edition I played a fighter who admired dragons. He wore a suit of scale mail he'd painted painstakingly to resemble a blue dragon's scales. You could also scream battle cries in Draconic, commision a weapon made with dragon parts (tooth, claw, scale), have a helmet that resembles a dragon's skull, have a dragon on your shield, keep a few potions of dragon's breath on hand, etc.

It's kinda interesting that limiting your choices forces you to be more imaginative.

Is the half -dragon template an option? Its pretty balanced at a +3 LA, and has all the flavor you need to get started.

Wings of Flying. Elixir of Fire Breath. Lots of ranks in Intimidate.

You can qualify for Dragon Disciple if you find a PrC with arcane spellcasting without preparation. Assassin is one, but the prerequisite skills are not Fighter skills. Can you get access to Hide and Move Silently as class skills? A level in Ranger?

Should be able to get Hide and Move Silently with the Geurilla Warrior feat, but an evil assassin isn't really inkeeping with this character.

Skip dragon disciple, go with Dragon Kith.

Have a look for other PrCs tht grant casting without requiring it in advance, then

I know this isn't really helpful to the OP, but has anyone tried a Duskblade/Dragon Disciple?

The Half-Dragon Template is pretty cool. It's worth the LA, if that's what you want. Plus, you still get the bonus feat for being human! Disadvantages, well you won't get wings since you won't be large, and the breath weapon is relatively weak. +8 Strength is very nice, however.
