Dragonborn optimization help.

I am starting a new 3e game soon, Starting at the 6th level. I have decided that I will be dragonborn. My initial race however is undecided. I was thinking maybe lesser Aasimar. Preferably no level adjustment. As for class, it has to be melee, I considered duskblade but currently i'm looking at 3.0 samurai from oriental adventure. With plans to max ranks in the iaijutsu skill.

I was wondering if anyone has a good race for dragonborn or anything that may improve there abilities such as feats I may not have considered. I'd like the breath weapon tobe awesome but it weak. So I might go with wings.
Also maybe ways to make the iaijutsu skill retardedly OP. Prc's, feats and such.

Material allowed is any published 3.0/5 material. That includes dragon magazine, often 3rd party published stuff is allowed as well

Since Dragonborn template doesn't change movement modes, consider taking Raptoran (RofW).
This will give you both flight and senses (breath weapon doesn't scale, so it's a waste of time).
