Dragonlance Dragonlance "Reimagined".

Dragonlance, like Star Wars (and Dark Sun), suffers from the big problem that there is very clearly a singular main story, and that story is resolved almost entirely by a specific band of heroes. That's good for fiction, but it's far from ideal for the game - do your PCs really want to just be the sideshow to the main event?
Have you ever seen Kelly's Heroes? It stars Clint Eastwood, Telly Sevalas, and even includes Donald Sutherland as a proto-beatnik Sherman tank commander as they embark on a heist to steal Nazi gold from a French bank in 1944. This is all a side story to the main event, pushing into Germany and ultimately Berlin, but it's entertaining. It's fine to set a campaign during momentous events, just make sure the PCs star in their own stories rather than just sitting in the shadow of an NPC.

Fair. I'm of the opinion that WotC should focus on original IP rather than trying to revive so many old properties. I loved Dark Sun, but it had its chance. Maybe try to do something else?

The old ones have name recognition. I've already seem some old school Dragonlance fans on AD&D fan pages say they are buying the books JUST because its Dragonlance. One post I saw has a guy buying the $300 Beadles and Grimm version just because it's Dragonlance.

Generic WotC War World wouldn't get those sales.

I've sworn off buying more 5th ed books like a year ago and even I might buy the core book.

I completely missed the boat on Dragonlance back in the 80s and 90s so it holds no nostalgia for me. But I'm always happy to see people getting something they enjoy, and I hope this new version is something you like.

The more I think about the more the changes take AWAY from several of the iconic female characters just seems wrong.

If the gods never left then Goldmoon doesnt bring clerical magic back. Not to mention Mishakal a female goddess (of healing) being the first "good" god to bring her powers back to the world.

If Soth attacks Palanthas leading dragons and draconians takes away from Kitara the only female Dragon Highlord.

If the Knights aren't sexist and xenophobic takes away Laurana and possibly her becoming the Golden General (and some major character growth) which is pivotal in the War of the Lance.
All of that still exists. I read those tales. The adventures they inspired? I played them.

Nothing Wizards does can takeaway my memories of that.

True, just saying be interesting to see if WotC really does gut the story right out of the heart of the campaign world just so they can have a generic "War World". Like looking at the aftermath of a car wreck.

If they hadn't already burned me on Ravenloft, I'd probably do the same. As it is, no Spelljammer, no Dragonlance, no Planescape, no Dark Sun (if they even try it). I don't trust WotC anymore.

So because there's a few token women allowed in, there shouldn't be any other women allowed in? Seriously?
