[Dragonstar] Spelljammer critters

Is anyone using Spelljammer monsters in Dragonstar? I was thinking of using the Radiant Dragon, the Stellar Dragon and a few others in my game. However I'm having a hard time with the fact that they wouldn't be able to breathe in a vacuum. My friend said let it "slide" a bit since sci-fi sometimes has creatures in vacuum. Like in Star trek TNG and the space slug in Empire Strikes Back. Any thoughts?

[Vacuum Elemental]

Here are two methods you can use explain it.

The first one is magical. Make the creatures immune to suffication and you're all set. Another way is to add a vacuum genasi template to the creatures. A third way is to say the creatures are surrounded by a link to the elemental plane of air.

The second option is scientific. Connect a few carbon dioxide loving bacteria or plant life to the creatures and there you go.

Magic or "pseudoscientific" reasons are okay.
If you say something about a silicium based lifeform, than this might be everything you need.
Perhaps the creautures are "powered" by some kind of natural fusion reactor (The old cold fusion myth?). Or they use some kind of vacuum energy (a good way to say: There is nothing I have to really reason it. So why not just take exactly that: Nothing? )

It might even be a mystery around them:
Did someone create them? Ae the sings of a lost god?
Why not hunt them, perhaps we will find a way to copy their methods?
Let us domesticate them. (FarScape anyone?)

On the WOTC boards in the Spelljammer there was some talk about adding the vacuum subtype from SW d20 to the creatures. That will work for me...

I'm pretty Sure that Dungeon isn't even out to subribers yet Kesh, so you've got a bit of a wait for it to be in stores.

There's supposed to be some creatures in the Dragonstar: Guide to the Galaxy that live in space...

That gets me thinking, would it be munchkin to play an Air Genasi, in Dragonstar, he'd still have to deal with whatever rules Dragonstar uses for vacumm damage.

Kesh - I was talking about a new subtype of creature from SW with the vacuum subtype added to it. There is a discussion of it on the Spelljammer message boards on the WOTC other worlds section.
