The Hoard of the Dragon Queen online supplement has monsters, so does the new addition of DM material to the free D&D Basic set (it includes dinosaurs, which are natural animals).

There is a list of animals in the back of the PH to use as familiars and wild shape creatures! How'd I miss that?
