I remember being online when the Red Wedding aired on Game of Thrones. To say the TV watchers were surprised would be an understatement.

The Dune movie-only folks outnumber the book readers today.

Yes, that is kind of weird ... what they show in the trailer actually looks more like an "inquel" about the Jihad. Apart from Duncan, there's nothing there that I could place anywhere in Dune: Messiah, let alone Children of Dune.

Not sure how much of CoD they will include, anyway. To be honest, it's my least favourite Dune book. It prefigures a lot of the (to my mind) pointless intrigue that's at the core of most of the Brian Herbert/Anderson pre-/-se/-in/-sidequels. Wheels within wheels, but little thematic substance. If they do include CoD, I desperately hope they will do away with the weird "Leto is now a superhero with strength factor 10 000" stuff from the end, that was just extremely out of tune with pretty much all the rest of the series ...
