Dungeon 140

Is Dave Olson involved in the design of FC2? Or how did he get sneak peeks? MAN am i anxious for this book to come out.

And this adventure sounds totally sweet. All... firey, and stuff.

This adventure actually got accepted and written long before even Fiendish Codex I was anounced, I think... In any case, we went in and added the FC2 elements during development, replacing an advanced erinyes with a pleasure devil, etc.

Thanks Mr. Jacobs for enlightening me. Is that standard practice at Paizo, implementing forthcoming material from WotC in either Dragon or Dungeon articles? Just curious.

It is... sort of. We try to align adventures now and then to support new products being released from WotC; but usually it's a tough trick to pull off. Most of the time, as in this case, it's just luck; we happened to have a devil-themed adventure on hand at about the time FC2 was coming along, so I contacted Chris Perkins at WotC, got a copy of the FC2 text, and we made the changes there. In other cases, where someone at Paizo (or one of our authors) has worked on a WotC product, we're able to incorperate things earlier. At other times, we'll send parts of upcoming WotC products out to an author, when they're doing an adventure that works nicely with a new, upcomming book.

Mine arrived today, which gave me much glee when I woke up from a five hour nap (dang medication side effects). Good thing, as we finished part one of ST Sunday, and I'm set to run part two this Sunday. My Age of Worms game is a lot less stressful, since it wasn't until part 10 or so that I looked at it and realized it would be very cool to run. Right now with ST, it looks like issues are coming out just fast enough to keep pace with my players.

I haven't read through it all yet, but it looks cool so far. We go from undead pirates to crazed cannibal pirates (and monkeys!). Those players that are in my AoW game should appreciate the Wormfall Festival. I think I found another easter egg; Sea Ghost was the pirate ship in Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, was it not?

I may have to find a time to run Heart of Hellfire Mountain; since one of my other games is an on the fly conversion of Against the Giants, the nod with Snurreson is a great selling point.

Heart of Hellfire Mountain sounds AMAZING.
I got to pick up this issue.

And I guess the Pleasure Devil is to the Eirinyes like the new Succubus that appeared on FC:I is to Succubi...
