Dungeon 146

I still hadn't received my issue as of yesterday. That's 15 days. When I can get a package from UPS in 3 business days or maybe 5 days via USPS, 15 plus days is just ridiculous. Paizo has had this problem for years. Subscriptions arrive really late or not at all. They really need to get on the ball and fix this beyond "We'll send you another issue ASAP."

Used to be, in the not too distant past, that if your issue was even one day late over the "two weeks from the ship date" on thier website, that the folks at Paizo would ship your replacement right away. Currently, subscribers are being told to "wait another week" and let us know if it still doesn't arrive. This change in policy is unfortunate and I hope that Erik's hints of alternate delivery options for subcriptions are no too far off.

Subscriptions ship via Periodical Class which is, unfortunately, as slow as it is cheap. If we were to start shipping via first class, say, we'd have to significantly raise the subscription price and that's not something we're comfortable doing. Periodical Class is shipped "space available" and that can result in delays. We're aware that this causes issues and have done what we can to streamline issues where they occur but, in the end, once the packages are in the hands of the USPS there's very little we can do to speed things up.

Our customer service team is ready and willing to help by sending you new copies of missing or seriously late issues. You can email them at customer.service@paizo.com or post a message about your missing copy on the customer service boards at paizo.com.

It is factually inaccurate to state that Paizo has always shipped replacements for folks who were "one day late over the 'two weeks from the ship date'". There are a multitude of reasons why a subscriber's issue might be late and we generally ask folks to wait one more week to insure the issue has not arrived. At that point, if their issue still has not arrived, we immediately send them a replacement. It should be noted that often times people receive their missing issue either during that week of waiting or while the replacement is in the mail. USPS Periodical Rate is wonky (see above) and we just can't predict how/why/when issues are late.

Pardon me, but it IS factually acurate in my experience with Paizo, that up until my issue with Dragon #353 last month, they have indeed shipped a replacement copy after it being even one day later than the two week period from the ship date. If they did or did not do this for other folks, I have no way of knowing, but in the past few years, the Customer Service at Paizo has always been prompt in providing replacements and have never asked me to "wait another week" until last month.

For what it's worth, that would be 5 replacement issues since June of 2003, including Dragon #353.

If this is the case, are you able to provide any information on what other option Erik is refering to earlier in this thread (post #50, I believe). BTW, Josh, thanks for coming by and posting here. Although I am frustrated with the current method of subscription delivery, I am overwhelmingly satisfied with Paizo as a whole and appreciate the attention and information that you guys give us on this and your own messageboards. :)

Thanks for the kind words.

Details on the other option Erik was talking about should be announced the week of the 23rd. Yes, I know I'm asking you to wait another week ... and a few days. :-)

Wierdness, I've never had a problem with getting my issues. I've typically gotten them around a week after the first bunch of subscribers start getting them, but before they hit the newsstands around here.

I usually get mine a few days to a week after Alzirius (sp?) gets his and posts the reviews.

Well, Dragon Magazine that is, don't have a subscription to Dungeon.
