Dungeon Crawl Classics What is cool to you from a player perspective?

Worth mentioning the Campaign Elements series by Daniel J. Bishop. The first one is The Falcate Idol. One purpose of this series is to help GM deal with a sudden need to “quest for it.”

Campaign Element - 1 - The Falcate Idol

The Cult of the Harrower is ancient, and each of the eight eyes of its spider-idol is rumored to be a moonstone gem the size of a pigeon's egg. Moreover, somewhere within the cult's sanctuary, a pool flows from the Egg of Creation. Will your Thief seek to make a legendary score? Will your Wizard pursue the shards of the Egg? Will your Cleric join the cult? Or will your Warrior fight his way through the web-covered passages to rescue them if they fail? Any or all of these scenarios are possible!

The Campaign Elements series is designed to help judges create persistent campaign worlds, as well as deal with patron quests, divine requests, and the sudden need to “Quest For It”. Whether it is because you are short on players one evening, or the wizard needs to locate a new spell, the Campaign Elements series has you covered.

Each of these areas is short enough to be played through by most groups in only a single session. That doesn't mean that the value of the area is limited to a single session – each adventure includes notes on “squeezing it dry”…effectively getting the maximum re-use from your investment.

I have not played DCC. I likely won't because my group primary plays 5E (but have started to dabble in Shadowdark).

However, I did have some of the Whiterock stuff for 3rd Edition. I don't even remember where I got it. I think I bought it used at a convention.

Not currently. I am looking through some of the options to see what would best suit my group.
My group is currently having a bit of a dilemma in that we still primarily play D&D 5th Edition, but we're ambivalent about whether we want to update to 5.5, switch over to something like Tales of the Valiant (or Enworld's Level Up,) or try a different game completely.

I like the idea of getting Whiterock myself, to update the material. The clamshell concept seems cool.

I was looking at Descent of the Ancient Fane: Descent of the Ancient Fane - Most Hellish Dungeon (DnD/DCC)

I'm not sure how much of it I would use, but it would be nice to have a wider selection of devilish/demonic creatures to use and be able to surprise some of my more experienced players who have seen most of what the D&D MM has offered for a few editions.
  • 90+ original monsters and demon lords
    50+ new magical items
Rules to adapt dozens of encounters to PCs’ fears, desires and backstories

That caught my attention.

Madness of Metronax also looks interesting. For $10, I get both a physical product and a pdf?

One of my favorite add-on options from the current Whiterock crowdfunding campaign is the Tournament of Pigs boxed set. I got the DCC version, but there is also a 5E version.

"Tournament of Pigs is an unforgettable D&D 5E/Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure that has players taking the role of commoners trapped in a medieval game show competition. The twelve events test luck and skill, but also creativity and improvisation. Do you think you can cook a cake good enough for the king? How good are you at wrestling greased piglets? Can you outrun an aberration while tied to another hapless contender?

The adventure introduces semi-competitive play as players not only attempt to survive, but also uncover the secrets of each event and score valuable Silver Prizes. The tournament is bloody, but if a player's character is killed; another event starts soon, and the player brings a new character into the competition.

Includes free GM Screen!"

It is one of the add-ons for the The Quarryton Calamity project.
