Dungeon Master's Guide SE Out?

Well, it looks like the special edition of the DMG is getting ready to be out, or is out.

Very nice looking cover.

Has the errata in it, including the magic weapon/armor getting more hardness and hit point as opposed to having to be attacked by an equally powerful weapon.

Still has the templates in back. Man, I had forgotten completely about them thanks to the battle box from Fiery dragon.

Looking over it and remembering variant rules like fixed hit points. Strange that for point buy they give you several options, but for hit points, just one. You'd think they'd put a 'knob' so to speak on it for low, mid, and higher powered games, as a matter of fact, just take the descriptions right from the point buy section and repeate it there.

Magic item section still has a lot of goods that I havne't used yet, but I tend to give out unique items as opposed to lots of generic ones.

Looking at the prcs, lots of spellcasting suckers there. not a lot of pure skill/fighter types like the duelist.

Any other thoughts on the old DMG this many years latter?

The only way I can accept the new DMG is truly fixed if it includes a very small rules sentence that would end many arguments since 3.5e came out:

"[Prestige class] does not incur multiclass XP penalty."

Was that in the errata?

Don't know if it's in the errata, but I checked the SE and it's in there under the description of PrCs. The more important part to me, was the magic weapon bit and that's in there too.

It looks very cool. It will go nicely with my leatherbound editions of Shakespeare and The More than Complete Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Here it is on page 176, at the end of the first paragraph under Prestige Classes.
Taking a prestige class does not incur the experience point penaltiesnormally associated with multiclassing.
And this book's street date was last friday.

Arrrghhh!!! Too many books to buy this month! I don't have the money!

I expect we'll see an update DMG errata file on the Wizards site this week, well, assuming that they're not too busy with moving...

Cheers!

Not to mention Quake IV, Black & White 2, Call of Duty 2, FEAR, and the new Brothers in Arms Game. I beat Dragonshard last week

You forgot the ultimate - Civilization IV. And apparently also Age of Empires III tomorrow, if you're into that.
