Dungeons and Dagon (In character)

Argent Silvermage

First Post
Warden’s Keep is a mid sized town on the coast of the east coast of the continent called the Flaness. The town has been the center of many ghoastly tales from the day the first stones were laid for the town hall.
It is to this quite slightly back water town that the 4 brave adventurers have been called. The Halfling Mage, Elven Paladin, "Scout" and Cleric were each sumoned by the cleric Hermiz to investigate the ruins that have recently been uncovered by the workmen who are fixing the town hall. It would seem that 20 years ago there was a strange set of small disasters that set the townsfolk so on edge that the Warden’s Keep was abandoned for almost a quarter of a century.
The town is just getting on it's feet again when a new set of unexplained circumstances have begun to plage the city again.

Pippy rides over the hill on her trusty pony "Rosebud" and is greeted by the sight of Warden's Keep before her. She is humming a lovely tune to herself until she sees the town. "What on Oerth? What a depressing looking place. This place looks like it could use some sprucing up, plus a bit o'excitement."

She rides on until she reaches the town proper and will stop at the first establishment that has a sign and wander in. She will pull a tattered piece of paper out of one of her many pockets and will proceed to inquire about the whereabouts of one "Hermiz".

Caemlynn walks along, shouldering his pack of gear and food. Stopping, he lights another Sanctioned Cigar and looks at the Town.It certainly looked downtrodden, even depressing. Perhaps there was some Demon of Sloth at work here. Well, it would be back in the Abyss soon enough, once Caemlynn of the Azure Cross got ahold of it. The Paladin moved on, anxious to remove his boots and massage his road-weary feet once he reached town.

Elbon Moonbrooks feet pounded on the game trail with a nice steady pace. He had been jogging for a good hour now and was starting to get winded. The trees around him swayed in the wind. He didn't like the feel of this forest one bit. Something was wrong about it but he could not put his finger on it. Coming over a rise, he got his first glance at the town ahead. If the forest felt wrong the town screamed it. Elbon shuddered. "I am supposed to explore under that!" Taking a long drink from his waterbag, Elbon started to jog again towards the town.

"Hmm," Pippy thought to herself. "What a place. What manner of shops and places of business are here? There's gotta be a temple of something in this place." Pippy will take a good look at the town layout and look for recognizable locations. She'll stop any town person that she can to ask for directions to an inn or a temple or Hermiz.

Town description...

Warden's Keep is a town that looks like it could have a population of a few thousand. but the streets are basicly deserted. The town itself looks like any "older" new england town say from Maine or Mass. The tallest building is in the town square and 3 stories tall. signs that you can see show a banker, apochacary, hotel (the Singing Banshee) and a few odds and ends stores. There is a plume of smoke coming from a few streets away to the east that is most likely a forge. There are a few villagers on the street all human. Pippy stops a woman holding a baby to her chest as if she feared for it's safety.
the woman says "Chil' there ain't no temples here. If your looking for hiz honor he be at his house mos' likely. He live there on the little hill next to the old graveyard." She points off to the north of town where Pippy can see a largeish house and a chapel in disrepair.

Child!?

No she didn't just say 'child' Pippy gives the lady a nice smile and politely says, "thankee m'am for yer kindly assistance."
Pippy then gets back on her pony and rides up the hill to the house that she was directed to. No she didn't. Child? Do I look, well I mean I am short, but I am all woman. Child. Criminy!

Walking into town, Elbon glances about. "Why are human settlements so drab?" thinks Elbon. Seeing the town square, he will go and ask someone who is in charge round here. Elbon will keep a eye out for anything out place in the town.

Elbon sees a Halfling woman, who is very out of place here, speaking to a villager with a baby and over hears their conversation. The Halfling mentions Heriz and the woman tells her where his home is.
