Dungeonscape Answers

I've got a few questions.

How is Chapter 7: Dungeon Features different from the dungeon terrain section of Chapter 1? How much is repitition of the similar sections in the DMG?

What's the Dungeon Lord prestige class like? Does it look like it's designed to be an NPC-only class?

DUNGEONBRED: Large Aberrations, Animals, Magical Beasts, or Vermin that are decreased in size in order to fit in dungeons and not require much maintenance to keep in dungeons. Good example was once such a creature eats a particular meal, it can forever sustain on the meal, which annihilates the need to acquire exotic meals for creatures that need it.
Suddenly I have this vision of a chiwawa sized hydra. :D Or how about a similarly sized pit fiend pretending to be an imp? (Or should that be a balor pretending to be an imp? I forget imp's ethical alignment at the moment.)

You know, this looks like a pretty groovy book, and I'm particularly relieved after thumbing through Cityscape and seeing how blah that one was.

Are there dungeon gods?

It only decreases the monster by one size.

Haven't gotten that far yet, just got onto Chapter 6: Traps. I'll finish the rest tomorrow, for sure.

Really good stuff, so far. Definitely a must for any DM that runs even just a few dungeon adventures and especially a must if you like to run dungeon adventures. The material in this comes in handy a lot.

As for the Dungeon Lord PrC, it's really cool and, yes, it was definitely designed (and stated to be designed only for) NPCs and monsters really.

Miniatures Handbook has cave dinosaurs that are reduced sized versions of regular ones that are specially adapted for the Underdark. So not totally unprecedented, but given that so few people know the monsters from the book (although at least two of them have shown up as races in the Races series), it might as well be.

It's a shame, too, as there are some interesting critters within that book. I really like the shadow beasts and kruthiks.

Sorry to hijack -- what does City Magic do?
Makes part of a spell do special 'City Damage' because of some special urban power.... thing. I dunno, it's pretty out there.
