Dwarven Defender Elves

Ok, first of all before any of you dwarf lovers/haters or elf lovers/haters get uppity about this remember its just a game. This idea was also LOVED by our resident elf lover...

2 years ago, in the mines of Farugon lived Murod Del Narguth. A sturdy and reliable dwarven ranger, who protected workers from burrowing dangers. Here he developed his skills and trade to work long hours, with little reward. After some time he became the attention of many upper dwarven groups and inducted with training to become a Dwarven Defender. Over the years he began to train others, and at that point, 2 years ago, left the mines to venture further, he was sure the mines were safe now without him.
Fast foward...
Farugon taking his position infront of the critically injured Krusk and frail bodies of Mialee and Lidda, he stood. Letting the others get away. Alas it was too late and Farugon perished in a fight to the death for both parties involved. Returning with Vadania the next day the group found a pile of corpses, at the bottom, Farugon.
Farugon had always stated he wanted to be reincarnated, to fit through those silly human door ways.
YET! ALL WAS NOT RIGHT! In some twisted fates Farugon awoke with pointy ears and hairless face.

-crunch-
Does Farugon keep the dwarven racial weapons?
Does Farugon get the elven racial weapons?
Assuming Farugon had fully progressed as a Dwarven defender and was now also another PrC or some other class would he keep all the DD levels and benefits?
Would you even consider letting this happen? :p

Romers

P.S. I want a Ranger based DD elf with urgosh :p

As I would run it, he would get the physical benefits of being an elf (dex mod, not sleeping, low light vision, etc) but not the cultural ones (weapon skills). He would keep the dwarven cultural abilities (weapon familiarity, combat bonuses against orcs and giants) but none of the physical ones.

Reincarnation is a pain in the ass.

If I was a dwarf and I'm discovering that someone raised me
and I look like an elf right now, i'll jump from the nearest cliff in shame.....
Oh.... the shame, our rocky souls in that fragile body.

Yes... I'm a dwarf lover ;)

I would very much let this happen but he'd have to come up with an awful good reason to not sell everything he owns or comision himself to work for a wizard in exchange of one little wish...

to be honest the idea is to get a dwarf lover dm to accept a elf lover player with a dwarven defender, who will never actively play a dwarf.

Maybe Farugon hates dwarves now cause they are all stubby, no swift running or something... who knows

I'm with Sejs. This would be a dwarf mind in the body of an elf.

So, he would have all the physical aspects of the elf... +2 dex, -2 Con, immunity to sleep effects, +2 vs enchantments, +2 to search, spot and listen, low light vision... but he wouldn't get the weapon proficiencies, or bonuses to discover secret or concealed doors.

but he'd have the dwarven mental, cultural stuff... Stonecunning, weapon familiarity, +1 racial bonus to attack vs orcs and goblinoids, +2 appraise and +2 craft for metal and stone, -2 Cha, maybe even the +2 saves vs spells and spell-like effects, since I think that is a mental resistance thing... or maybe not, if you want to count it as more of a physical resistance. It might offset the additional attribute penalty of the -2 Cha though. He wouldn't keep the +2 Con, +1 save bonus vs poison, +4 dodge for giant types, darkvision or stability bonuses.

That's how I'd do it anyways. :)

Hell yeah I'd allow this!

That's so cool...

The new character would be an elf with dd levels.

I wouldn't allow a pc to play an elf dd with this as their backstory though; you'd have to start off as a dwarf.

However, he would no longer meet the requirements for the Dwarven Defender class, and thus lose all class benefits.

Quoted from the SRD on Reincarnate:
A reincarnated creature recalls the majority of its former life and form. It retains any class abilities, feats, or skill ranks it formerly possessed. Its class, base attack bonus, base save bonuses, and hit points are unchanged. Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores depend partly on the new body. First eliminate the subject’s racial adjustments (since it is no longer of his previous race) and then apply the adjustments found below to its remaining ability scores. The subject’s level (or Hit Dice) is reduced by 1. If the subject was 1st level, its new Constitution score is reduced by 2. (If this reduction would put its Con at 0 or lower, it can’t be reincarnated). This level/HD loss or Constitution loss cannot be repaired by any means.
It’s possible for the change in the subject’s ability scores to make it difficult for it to pursue its previous character class. If this is the case, the subject is well advised to become a multiclass character.
