Dwimmermount IC:

Somewhat startled by the aggressiveness of the attack, Jimi retreats, a single kobold arrow stuck in his shield. It seems that Tyche's blessings of luck have left them at this precise moment, and he suppresses a brief pang of panic at their situation. Five, six kobolds... maybe more?

[OOC: How feasible would it be for JImi to set some sort of old school burning oil trap with a pool of oil at the entrance to the previous cavern and throwing a lit oil flask when the kobolds are crossing it? Have I got the time / is the area suitable for this?]

You are able to retreat back into the room with the bones and take up ambush positions while Jimi pours oil on the floor. After a few moments you see the Kobolds coming down the corridor.

Monster Initiative [1d6] = 3
Party Initiative [1d6] = 6

On account of winning initiative, Jimi, you have lots of time to set off your trap at an ideal moment to catch four of them in the flames, while everyone else can place themselves in whatever position is most optimal.

Sounds splendid. :-)

As the Kobolds file into the room Jimi lofts his oil striking one of the lead Kobolds

Flask Damage [1d6] = 3

The fire quickly spreads over the four in the lead
Oil Pool Damage [1d4] = 2

Causing the first one (who had been struck by the flask) to collapse in a screaming pile as the others flail about trying to put out the flames that are licking up their legs.

OOC: There are 3 Kobolds right in the entrance of the room who are standing in the flaming oil. You see several others behind them but they are still down the small corridor connecting the two rooms.

"Whoa!" Midgrim instinctively raises his shield against the unexpected blast of heat, then dives in, braving the flames so his axe can DRINK! "A bit of a warning next time, Jimmy!"

OOC: Hoping he can get close enough to strike without taking heat damage. If so: Axe vs kobolds: 1D20+1 = [1]+1 = 2 1D6+1 = [3]+1 = 4. No good. He'll at least try to block the way so they can't spill into the room though.

Gargrim charges next to Midgrim, watching his kin's flank all the while. "Warning? Nay, keep pouring it on the wee bastards, my man! I'll take a little singing instead of an arrow to the gut anytime o' the week!"

Midgrim, the brightness of the flame dazzles your eyes and you flail at where the lead Kobold was, only to realize that he had already collapsed to the ground in front of you. Beside you Gargrim steps in and a powerful sidearmed swing crunches into the skull of another Kobold hard enough that a few teeth and bits of bone smack into your breastplate as the dying Kobold gets knocked back into his comrades.

OOC: rolling for Klyman here since he hasn't posted yet

Klyman to hit [1d20] = 6 Damage [1d6] = 3

Klyman moves in to stab one of the Kobolds in the back, but he is jostled by Midgrim who manages to throw off his blow.

Kobold attacks (Only two can reach you as you've blocked off the door) with Klyman, Jimi and the Dwarves as targets.

Kobold to Hit [1d20] = 3 damage shortsword [1d6] = 4
Kobold to Hit [1d20] = 13 damage shortsword [1d6] = 3

The first one swings at Gargrim, but he seems to have been shocked somewhat by the ferocity which which the dwarf had managed to splatter his comrade's brains all over the cavern, his sword bounces against the dwarfs armour.

The second stabs at Midgrimand but his attack too bounces off the dwarf's armour.

Monster Initiative [1d6] = 6
Party Initiative [1d6] = 6

OOC: For ties I dice them off

Monster Initiative [1d6] = 4
Party Initiative [1d6] = 2

The two Kobolds continue their attacks targeting Klyman and Jimi instead hoping they might be softer targets than the dwarves.

Klyman Kobold to Hit [1d20] = 5 damage shortsword [1d6] = 3
Jimi Kobold to Hit [1d20] = 17 damage shortsword [1d6] = 6

One of the two beasts rams his sword into the unprotected part of Jimi's thigh, severing the major artery in the leg. Jimi collapses to the ground his lifeblood spilling out around him. As the world fades to black around him, he sees the coin given to him by sister Emmelise spinning in front of his eyes.

OOC: Good time to remind people of the death rules. Jimi is dead, however after combat someone can attempt to revive him. Jimi can then make a saving throw vs. death to actually be alive with 1 HP. In the case of Jimi he gets a single re-roll if needed due to the coin given to him by Emmelise. Tyche might not be done with him yet.

As the melee turns more desperate Climent shouts out, "Hold them off, I will try to enchant them into a sleep!
