D&D 5E Dwimmermount [IC]

Hunter signaled an all clear to the rest of the company as they joined him at the long abandoned homestead. Hunter (and the other) are fairly confident that this homestead had been abandoned around a year ago and that the wall and partial collapse of the home itself were due to the harsh weather of these lands. However it does appear that the bones and fire are much more recent. Looking them over Hunter figures the fire is only two days old. The bones have been gnawed on by something with big teeth and had been cracked open to get at the marrow inside. If he had to guess Hunter would think most of the bones are those of cattle. One or two might be small enough for a humanoid but it could also be a that of a deer for all he knew.

Shara tried to find a trail but the ground was too broken for her to be sure which way the creatures had gone when the left...

The sun was only a hour or so away from midday but it was still chilly and a cold wind blew down from the ice capped mountains.

"Well, if we can't find anything here, I guess we should move on to the next one. Since our enemy appears to be using these old homesteads for shelter, I would suggest burning it, but we aren't in enemy territory..." Magen trails off, without really finishing his thought.

Hunter Brightwood

Hunter looked up at Magen, and waited for him to finish speaking, “I’d say two days old, or so. Most of these bones look to be cattle and something with some pretty big teeth were chewing on them.”

Hunter smiled and stood up, tossing aside a bone, “It doesn’t look like anyone was killed here, so that’s good. But I don’t have anything on where they headed from here, but I agree we should be moving on.”

The company continues on their trek, following the vague directions given to them by the rancher. Around a hour or so later they spot another abandoned looking homestead on the next ridge...

GM: Same as before? At first glance yes but you can also make Wisdom (Perception) checks and/or send someone to sneak up first and have a look.
Also GM Secret roll: 2D20.HIGH(1)+6 = [19, 8]+6 = 25 oh

OOC: Ugh, GreenKarl, if you could kindly stop rolling so well, that'd be great. Plz & thanks. ;)

I'm calling in a favor from Pelor & using Guidance on myself for this check:

[roll0] + [roll1]

The homestead looks a lot like the last one to Shara, probably having been abandoned some time ago. But just as she was about to mention that she thought she saw of flash of light off metal... it could be nothing. Maybe just an old metal utensil reflecting a ray of sunlight...

Shara looks around the party with an urgent expression and a finger to her lips. "I think I saw something. Sunlight glinting off metal," she whispers. "It might be nothing..."

OOC: Scouts are welcome to Guidance again, but I'm also happy to just go in together.

"Hmmm... Suspicious, but maybe nothing." Magen says to Shara. "Hunter are you happy to scout again?"  He says scanning the homestead himself.
