Corwin has to climb up on the outside of the cage to reach the lock. While it seemed like a simple one to open, the rogue was at a bad angle to really get at the lock. It took him longer then he expected but after a couple of minutes of cursing under his breath the lock popped open and a number of the bars fall to the ground. This allowed enough room for the small figure to half fall, fall jump out of the cage and onto the floor.

Rolling onto its back the figure raised a filthy hand and whisper, in a cracked and broken voice "ww...wa... water? f... fo.... food..."

Now that you can see it a little better and push back some of its rags you can see the figure is a male Halfling.

Shara crouches down and gives him her waterskin and a pack of rations. She tries to eye him for any injuries while he eats.

After he's had a few moments to eat, she says to him, "My name is Shara." She taps her chest a couple times to indicate herself. "Shara." Then she points to him and raises her eyebrows in a questioning look. "Your name?"

The Halfling wolfs down at least two days worth of food and a goodly amount of water before burping, muttering some barely intelligible "Thank you and promptly curls up in a ball of the floor and starts snoring.

As far as Hunter can tell there is nothing else of value in the chamber...

Shara slings her shield over her shoulder and picks up the halfling. "Come on, little one," she says quietly.

"Let's get out of here," she says to the others, her disgust at this evil plain in her voice.

The group heads back out, with Shara easily carrying the small figure in her arms. Back outside they do remember the second tunnel into the earth. It appears completely the same as the one they just exited...

Magen Brigward, Fighter 3

MAgen looks up to the sky, trying to gauge how much daylight is left. "I'd like to check out this other tunnel before we go back."

OOC: Stick with the same thing we did last time?

Shara looks down at the little halfling, and then nods reluctantly. She wanted to get him out of here, but Magen was right.

"Let me go search the hag first. She may have other keys."

She hands the halfling boy to Corwin and heads for the rope, struggling with the climb once again.

OOC: Climb out of pit: 2D20.HIGH(1)+1D4-1 = [7, 4]+[3]-1 = 9

First attempt failed, second try: Climb out of pit: 2D20.HIGH(1)+1D4-1 = [4, 19]+[3]-1 = 21

Climb back down: Climb back into pit: 2D20.HIGH(1)+1D4-1 = [8, 11]+[1]-1 = 11

Let me know how much damage to take for that first failure.

It takes Shara some time climbs out of the pit to check over the hag. She does not seem to be carrying anything besides the petrified eye (that is still laying on the ground by her outstretched hand). When she returns the heroes line up as they did last time, with Megan and the shield providing light. As they know what to look for they spot the trip wire easily this time and Corwin easily disarms it again.

There is another chamber just past the trap but much different then the last one. There is little trash or debris about and a small cauldron is set over a fire pit. On one wall is a large scroll rack with a number of large rolled scrolls set upon it. On the other side of the chamber are two neatly stacked sets of bones with a large humanoid skull set onto each.
