E1: Tomb of Chaos [Judge: Patlin] [Concluded]

Nars performs a thourough search around the secret door that Nezrak has found. Unable to find any traps or even triggers, Nars takes a closer look at the wall itself and with his intricate knowledge of stonework determines that the wall here was added after the fact and appears to be quite thin. A solid strike and the wall would probably crumble.

From behind Percy, Nestiphae asks, "Is them gnolls what made the noise I heard earlier?" indicating the blood and gore that fills the corridor to the north.

Nars uses the hilt of his sword to give the wall a solid strike at the wall. If that doesn't do it, he says, "Er, Gorefoot, this is a, ah, facade. Smack it, ah, here."

"Yes. Evidently, whatever they had escaped and killed several of them. Do you have any idea what it was?" Percy still holds the torch and loaded crossbow, very curious what is beyond the secret door.

If Nars asks him to, Gorefoot will bring his greatsword down in a powerful arc.

OOC: Full power attack on the first try. 1d10+11 damage.

Through the Wall

Nars and Gorefoot find it quite easy to break through the thin wall. Ahead you see a dark narrow corridor with quite high ceilings. It stretches almost to the extent of your torch light before opening into a wider corridor that heads to the right. There is a noticeable draft, and small drifts of very fine sand everywhere. The walls are covered with frescoes depicting slaves draging a sarcophagus on a sled through a corridor.

At the turn in the passage, Nars can see that the wall opposite the entrance contains a fresco of the same armored warrior seen just north of your current position. It points down the long dark corridor to your right.

"Now we're getting somewhere." Percy mutters with a grim smile. "Let's be careful, here Nars. We probably aren't supposed to be here. Look out for pits and such."

Nars moves slowly forward, trying to remain quiet and scanning for trip wires, pressure plates, and any other tell-tale signs of traps (Search +9, +2 for unusual stonework, +2 for secret doors/compartments).

Ishmael continues to guard the party's rear. If he can see the pit, he'll try his Divine Inquisition ability on it. Violet is in his hand and his shield is also readied for trouble.

At the bend in the corridor, Nars sees that the corridor carries on past the edge of his vision. It is a good 3 paces wide and as tall as an ogre (10' wide x ??' long x 10' high). On the wall facing the long left-hand passage there is a painting of what seems to be a vutlture-headed creature wielding barbed whips. Searching the fresco reveals that the crumbly plaster is even easier to break than the secret entrance. Breaking off a few pieces Nars spots a set of horizontal spiles. Past the corner, the walls are smooth unpainted sandstone, very finely joined. The floor is covered in an inch of fine smooth sand.

From his position at the back of the group, Sir Ishmael peeks around the far corner to get a better look at the pit. Activating his divine inquisition ability he is unable to detect the presence of any evil eminating from the pit.

Five paces by five paces. Probably only three for a human, Nars notes. He is bothered a bit by the painting, but is not sure what to do about it. With that big mole-thing around, better make sure the tunnel isn't about to collapse. I hope the knight is right.

Nars keeps an eye on the structural integrity of the cooridor as he continues his way slowly around the bend (still searching and moving stealthily).
