E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Despite her doubious treatment at the hands of fey before, Percy still finds them cute and charming. She won't be eating any of their food, but she's not upset to see them. She drops one of her hands softly on Gorefoot's shoulder to keep him from doing anything foolish.

"Oh hi." she says with a broad smile. "We were just resting, as he says." she says, gesturing to Ridik with her other hand.

"It's a very nice little circle you've got. There must not be many travelers who pass this way. Otherwise, people would be stopping here all the time. We mean no disrespect."

OOC: I can't even make a roll on those spot & listen checks... Percy's diplomacy is +10, though, for what its worth.

Things go fairly well with Percy and Ridik doing the talking (eveyone else has diplomacy of -1 except Nezrak's huge 0) the two Thorns put their spear tips up and relax their stance a little. The Petals continue to flit around Nars, though they have stopped their mean or rude gestures and have taken to sit on his shoulder or dance on his head. The Thorn nearest to Percy says in reply, "Our circles are sacred places, places where our reality is closer to your own. Rest and dreaming are some of the most honoured traditions here."

"And dancing!" echo all the Petals together as they renew their dance around Nars.

"What do you seek in our forest?"

(ooc: yay for high diplomacy rolls. Do you get to try again and move their attitude from friendly to helpful?)

[SBLOCK=OOC]RAW tells that it is useless to retry a diplomatie roll... if they are friendly, it is a +.[/SBLOCK]

"Oh, we are trying to find a tribe of gnome. You see, Gorefoot, him" tells Ridik, pointing at the halfling "is a member of that tribe (I know, he is an halfling, but that show that tribe is open-minded) and we are seeking them. The tribe are nomad and live in the region after they have been force to exil form there homeland by a band of goblin (not my kind, green goblin... they make such a bad reputation to us). If you have seen them, you could point us out to them. It would be greatly appreciated and we would surely leave you in peace as we won't need to wander in that forest any longer. (The forest is pretty, but the weather is very bad and I can't read my book with all that water around and by the way, they dance nicely, what kind of fea are they? We have so few books about your people at my monastery, it would be interesting to be more informed, it would do a nice addition to the library of my monastery)."

"Oh, I like your dance." Percy tells the Petals. "I know I must seem big and clumsy, but could you teach me?" Percy loves the little fey, and forgets her weary body. She tries to dance along.

OOC: Perform (Dance) +6

After a bit, she returns to the issues at hand. "I don't know that the nomads are actually gnomes. Are they, Fondar? But we are looking for a band of nomads to liberate Gorefoot's homeland. Can you help us? If nothing else, perhaps you could find us a place to sleep that is comfortable and not special to you."

"Also, do you know the Fey Lord under the Hill? We've worked with him in the past."

The Petals enjoy watching Percy dance and leave the dour dwarf to swirl around her, complimenting her moves. Every now and then, Nars thinks he spots one that sticks our her tongue at him. The dance is well performed.

While dancing, the Thorn who is speaking replies to Ridik, "You go to fight at Gemhold? We know of this place and the plague which it belches upon the Reach. The goblins have found a way to forge special iron in the old gnomish fort that hurts our people. The nomad tribe of Larkenhold moves along the eastern paths at this time of the year. You should be able to pick up a deer trail about 200 yards north of here that will take you to them."

OoC: Terribly sory about the absence; I had a week of vacation with no regular access to the net, followed by a glut of school work plus other personal matters. Things should be back to normal now, though.

IC: Rodimus abhors the small, happy, colourful creatures flitting about them. He finds the swirling colours and high-pitched voices irritating, but once again he lets the talky people steer their course as he is doubtful of his chance of punching a target so small.

Percy stops her dancing upon overhearing the Thorn. "So you know of Gemhold? And of the Nomads. We are indeed planning to kick them the Goblins out of Gemhold. Can you tell us more? Have the goblins been attacking you with these new weapons? Could we assist you in fighting them?"

When the fey mention his home and the goblins, they get Gorefoot's full, undivided attention. He quietly waits for their answer to Percy's questions.
