E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Percy tries to freshen up a bit as they travel. She pulls a comb through her hair. When they arrive at the camp, she dismounts, and gives the reins to Gorefoot. She steps forward to meet whomever comes forward.

Nars is glad to hear that some of the other gnomes may still be alive. He had been under the impression that this was purely a mission of vengeance - a task that must be done to make the world right but a hollow reward at the end of a long struggle. The chance to free some of the gnomes made the task more appealing, and also added some urgency to the quest.

The nomads wandering the camp stop what they are doing to look up at the people entering. Some nod to Cenerieth as he leads the new comers through the camp towards one of the more ornate tents errected towards the far end. The tent is a large thing made of animal skins and various symbols and devices are painted on or hang off of the sides. Two tall poles stick out of the ground at the entrance attached with the pelts of two furred creatures. Cenerieth enters while Moranion moves to the front of the group and says, "Please wait a moment, Cenerieth will confer with the Speaker." his common is a little more stilted than Cenerieth's, as if Moranion is even more rusty at it.

Assuming he knows, Gorefoot explains what the speaker does to Ridik.

OOC: Erekose13, does Gorefoot know the answer to Ridik's question?

ooc: Gorefoot knows that the speaker is the nomad's elder. He speaks as the authority in the tribe and leads them based on the words of the spirits.

"He speaks with spirits. Now that interesting. I've read some note on that. it is generally found in more primitive traditions, but I wonder why. Speaking with spirits can be usefull to any population. Maybe many are just framing it and they don't really speak to them, but I have read at leats one case where they really speak with spirits. You thinks he really speak to spirit?" whispers Ridik to Gorefoot.

Gorefoot looks back at Ridik and says matter-of-factly in a low voice, "Probably, he wouldn't be the speaker if he didn't."

After waiting for a few minutes Cenerieth reemerges from the depths of the tent. He bows and holds open the flap of the tent. "The Speaker will see you now.". As you enter the tent you are greeted by a pall of smoke that hangs thick towards the ceiling before exiting through a series of small holes in the roof. Sitting opposite a smoldering flame is an elderly human woman.

"Please sit. We bid you welcome Gorefoot of Gemhold and your friends as well."
