[Eberron] Artificers and metamagic

Two questions.
1. Do Artificers qualify for metamagic feats outside of their bonus feats?

2. Can Artificers apply metamagic feats to their infusions?

1) I believe so, as metamagic feats don't have spell casting as a prereq.
2) I don't think so, infusions aren't spells.

Yes.

2. Can Artificers apply metamagic feats to their infusions?

Yes. After all, their description specifically says (pg.31, under infusions) "Like a spellcaster, an artificer can apply metamagic feats to his infusions" The sentence was originally "Like a spellcaster, an artificer can apply item creation feats and metamagic feats to his infusions", but that got changed in errata.
