Eberron Recruitment Thread!

Need_A_Life

First Post
Hi, whoever you are :p

The current campaign, Fall of the Broken (see my signature) has a psion that is for reasons unknown MIA. His player has not been active for some time and since we're fairly close to the point where he either has to do something or disappear from the story I want to recruit a replacement player.

The current character is a psion, formerly played by Scribbler, but if you're interested in joining the game but not in continuing the character, I'd be willing for you to join up with the group taking the current characters place.

So, basically, I'm looking for a player who'd be interested in playing Eberron.

Anyone interested?

Thus far the group has been hired to break into a House Kundarak Vault in Sharn by an Alan Demaine, they have discovered the famous inquisitive Victor Saint-Demaine keeping a watchful eye on them, but have convinced him through diplomacy and a well-timed charm spell that they're trustworthy enough that his brother Alan can trust them.

The psion - Meredith ir'Bara is of noble birth, though her rebellious nature has made her on bad standing with her parents for the moment - is one of the main players in the tactic agreed upon just before the player disappeared, as she is to make a distraction using her powers while the others infiltrate.

(http://www.enworld.org/showpost.php?p=3837568&postcount=21) for her current stats; though the entire group has just gained a level, so your first act in character apparently be to say "DING! Level!" :p

Hm. Well, first off you should know that I don't know a whole lot about Eberron never having played the setting before. Don't know if that'd be a problem or not.

Would you prefer that I keep Meredith as is, or would you consider allowing me to tweak her build; I don't know how much of her character's abilities have been defined in the campaign yet.

Another option would simply be to create a new PC altogether; it seemed the other players were lamenting the absence of a sneaky character better suited to the party's current mission. What are the other characters BTW?

I'd just like to hear your thoughts on the matter before I start considering possible options.

Finn (my character) is sneaky, just not pickpocket-y. Our current plan is to distract the guards in the front of the vault while I (and Hashvarak?) sneak in using our inside info. Meredith was going to provide the distraction by summoning an astral construct to "wreak havoc" in the lobby of the vault while Olot and Frundor "defeated" the construct like noble heroes. If you wanted to slide in seamlessly without taking over Meredith, you could come up with a character able to provide a similar means of distraction - perhaps another summoner or an illusionist? Alternately, we can change our plan, though the DM's probably already prepared for the current one.

The current active cast is:
Finn Alastair Kincadd, human swordsage (role: sneak and info broker)
Hashvarak, kalashtar bard (role: skirmisher and diplomat)
Frundor, human warlock (role: striker and troublemaker)
Olotumeal, half-orc fighter (role: fighter and bodyguard to Frundor)

The character to be replaced/player-swapped:
Meredith ir'Bara, human psion (role: arcanist with noble connections)

Whether you take the character over as-is, tweak it or make a new one from scratch would be up to you entirely. Only if you make a whole new character it'll strain credibility to just have you "pop" in... though I guess that could be ignored due to the circumstances?

Knowledge of Eberron is of course welcome, but far from demanded... if you take the time to brush up on the very basics of the world (as in "magic is common" and the likes) that'll be all you'll need (for now, anyway, don't know exactly how this'll play out).

I'd be interested in playing in your game. I've been playing / DMing in Eberron for about 3 years so I'm relatively familiar with the setting ;)

I'd be keen to take over the Psion but I'd prefer to tweak her into something more like what I'd play - ie take the base chassis and then work my magic on the character specifics.

I'll humbly concede the psion PC to Sidekick. His superior Eberron knowledge will serve the game better I believe. Good luck with your mission guys! ;)

Okay sorry Need a Life.
I had my first day of work for the year, and guess what - the boss has dumped a nice and juicy project on me for the New Year.

<sidekick waves good bye to free time>
I really can't see me having the time to tweak the character and then commit to daily posts.

Sorry, I feel real crap about pulling out like this...
