Actually I missed the part in the multiclassing rules you posted earlier that you can pick your archetype. Shadow Sorcerer might be more fitting for my character. Only thing is I don't own Xanthar's Guide so I am not sure what changes where made between the UA and the final version.

Differences between UA and XGtE versions of Shadow Sorcerer

Level 1
Shadow Sorcerer Quirk - same
Eyes of the Dark
UA: From 1st level, you have darkvision with a range of 60 feet. You can cast darkness by spending 1 sorcery point. You can see through any darkness spell you cast using this ability.
XGtE: Starting at 1st level, you have darkvision with a range of 120 feet.
When you reach 3rd level in this class, you learn the darkness spell, which doesn't count against your number of sorcerer spells known. In addition, you can cast it by spending 2 sorcery points or by expending a spell slot. If you cast it with sorcery points, you can see through the darkness created by the spell.
Strength of the Grave - same, except:
XGtE: After the saving throw succeeds, you can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Level 6
Hound of Ill Omen - same, except:
XGtE: Targets one creature you can see within 120 feet of you.
The hound counts as a monstrosity, not a beast.
The hound appears with a number of temporary hit points equal to half your sorcerer level.
Level 14
Shadow Walk - same
Level 18
Shadow Form (UA)/Umbral Form (XGtE) - same, except:
XGtE: Cost is 6 sorcery points.
You have resistance to all damage except force and radiant damage.
The effect ends early if you are incapacitated, if you die, or if you dismiss it as a bonus action.

No prob hero4hire, seems you got your fighter/samurai Congrats.

To Everyone:

Wish to question the bandits here or take them back to town? You have a caged cart, but no horse as it is meant to be pulled/pushed.

I assume we're going to question them here since we assume there's more than 4 total bandits and they probably have a camp not to far away.

And what were they doing with the bear?

If you are still going to be the "bowman" of the group, maybe this level you'll get more out of Cunning Action. You will probably use the disengage bonus a lot.

True, but Green-Flame Blade/Booming Blade + Sneak Attack is hard to pass up. Plus getting into melee will give Hero4hire more chance to get sneak attack as well. Plus I originally didn't want to be the "bowman" it's just the encounter makeup and our low level kinda forced my hand. The problem is I see the benefits of either build and keep going back and forth between the two.

In the end, it only matters for the next few encounters. It only takes 600 more xp to get to level 3, at which time you’ll grab the one you didn’t grab this time. So I say pick the one you’re most interested in, or which fits the story better. If you wanna grab your Sorcerer powers and it makes sense, go ahead.

You make a good point. I will go with Sorcerer then. Now to figure out how and why. Any suggestions on spells?
