D&D 5E EB's ToEE and RttToEE Campaign - IC

Back in the dining room, Rana snatched the locket back from Zanword, her hand surprisingly strong for something so thin. “Congratulations boy, you’ve just lost yourself the right to have a voice in this.”

She did not look at all pleased with him, her lips compressed with what could be... disappointment?

“Now go after the girl before she gets herself into too much trouble.” With a dismissing point of her chin the way Aridha had just disappeared to, and a glare of those pale, hooded eyes for good measure...

After Zanword left <if he does>, the old witch sank back into her chair with a deflating sigh. “Lady give me strength- No, make that Patience... Patience and a healthy dose of something strong to go in my tea.”

Templeton scrapped the contents of Aridha's leftovers onto his plate. " I plan on muckin' about meself tonight. When everyone is all sleepin' like. See's what secrets folks about here keep in their hidesy-holes."
“Oh that will end well,” was Rana’s only comment, though she did companionly warn: “If you get arrested, we will *not* be coming for you.”

Which left... Silent Girl, actually, who was... silently reading something, and... Rana disillusionately considered the softly breathing mountain of polished metal and scaly muscles standing at attention by the entrance...... “I don’t suppose you know anything about bandits or closed roads, do you?”

Little hope there.

OOC: Anything like a sherry or amareto (rhum?) lying about, EB? :D
OOC: Right now Rana is planning to wait here for Hevar to come back with news from the carpenter and/or with the Woodsman himself. To kill the time, she might see if she can hook the innkeeper into conversation and ask him about 'that business in Nulb'?

"You will not sell that, Rana, I have as much say in this as any of you. There is nothing we need that badly that it costs that farmer his memento. I was telling the truth." He turns toward the door "Aridha, wait up!"

As he reaches the girl "Those greedy...I need to find out who has interest in these monsters before they sell that token or worse, Rebecca takes it for herself. Help?"

He goes in search for carpenter, fletcher, barrel makar, wood logger or any other potential client. He (of course) describes the group as the crew of Captain Blackpearl :)

Hexiros nods. "Unfortunately most people are not free with information when it comes to me." He glances at the halberd that he is currently leaning on, and then at the huge maul strapped to his back. "Strangely, it's as if they think I may be a threat of some sort." He smiles as he says this, unintentionally showing off his gleaming white, and razor sharp, teeth.

Rebekah pursed her lips as she took in the two strangers, there were a couple of ways to play this but it would be better to make friends than enemies. As Lady Rebekah she would have thrown them out for their impudence but times had changed.

"Good morning to you," she smiled. "I am Bekah. Emmyr here and I are adventurers currently part of a group. May I ask, who recommended me to you?"

"Emmyr dear, I am expecting someone to come up to take the chest at some stage. Please be a lamb and don't decapitate them." she winks at the surprised dwarf. The change of tone and address was quite dramatic and this was a side of "Bekah" he hadn't seen before.

"Now," she starts giving the duo an appraising look. "What skills do you two bring that would be useful to my party?"

None around, but you could order some and send for the innkeep for some RP/info[/sblock]

Turuko.jpg Not looking back to the dwarf Turuko eyes Bekah with a grin. "We are accomplished warriors," he says confidently. Kobort who has been blocking the open door turns only slightly to allow Emmyr to look into the room, but does not move enough to let him inside. "We told old man Poe we were on the look out for a similar group, and paid him well for his information on the four of you."

The easterner continues, "We wish to join with you and your party, as that would make us six strong. And with me and Kobort along to help we will be rich before the winter."

"That is a shame," Bekah's face is crestfallen. "We seem to have a surplus of muscle in our group. We have three already of which myself and Emmyr are two so we could have really used some magical support. Let me think about it though and pose it to the others."

"Where are you staying, I'll send you a message some time later today. But, if you will excuse me; I have some errands to run this morning."

He says, just after trying to steal everybody *else’s* say in this.

The old witch sank back into her chair with a deflating sigh. “Lady give me strength- No, make that Patience... Patience and a healthy dose of something strong to go in my tea.”

She looked about but couldn’t see anything of the sort: this was supposed to be breakfast after all. So she repeatedly clinked a fork on some kitchenware, quite without regard for the continued existence of either at the moment -- see if that caught the attention of anybody on staff...

OOC: Does it?

As they waited Hexiros smiled, and even Rana had to swallow, and work hard at not imagining those pointy spikes in action, piercing into flesh “...Have you ever considered wearing a mask, -” What was his name again? “What was your name again?”

"I am Hexiros," he says making his way to a nearby seat. "Apologies that we haven't had the time to make a formal acquaintance. Now that I've thought about it for a moment, however, I do remember Javin talking to the teamster when we arrived in town. The man did say something about bandits in the north, that it wasn't safe. He lost a cart and some men, apparently."

Zanword takes Aridha all over the place. Leaving the inn and going toward the river, he spots woodcutters cottage (the fact that he asked at the inn is irrelevant) and goes in to ask the man about the beasts.

From there they follow the track south and take a detour to the druid grove, just as a courtesy call to introduce themselves. After that they follow the main road north and turn eastward visiting wainwright and carpenters shops.

Shortly taking a look at the tower (look at the size of that thing!) they return to the main road and pass over the bridge to visit cabinet maker and traders cottage to see if anyone knows anything else.

Finally, they look for the foreman at the building site to check if he has problems with lack of wood.

From all of them (except the druid) he asks how the monsters affect their job, what are the wood prices, do they know anything about the monsters. At the very end, he asks what would they offer to be rid of the problems (if any).

He is interested in talking to the priest and the druid, both might have some more information about the monsters or offer advice, help or whatever.

OOC: We can go RP each one by one. It may take some time. Do we go all at once (in each post series of intro questions etc)? If you think there is information that might affect how we talk to others offer it as some sort of warning.
