Elf or Human , whos better?

I'd prefer humans, myself.

Elves are okay.. I'd rather play an elf than a gnome or halfling, but it's still quite unlikely that I'd play one.

*nod* Kivan can be found in the High Hedge area, west and (slightly) north of Beregost. He uh... wasn't really worth keeping around in my oppinion. Good enough cannon fodder when you needed someone to suck up those dire charms and then fireball into kingdom come when you run into those sirines a few maps over on the coast. But that's about it. If you're looking for an archer, just wait for Coran.

I spent a good deal of time running around this area in past games, but never ran into him. Or rather I probably ran into him and blew him off, never knowing that he was a potential party member. But for all intents and purposes....I AM NOT KIVAN!!

The armor is cube-shaped, right? With just a little window for the skull to peer out. And a little hole in the front center for a pseudopod to reach out and grasp the morningstar.

Changing tone, I'd have to say that I DO NOT understand all of those people who go around saying that elves are tree-hugging sissy-panzies from sugar-coated candyland. Where did this idea come from, anyway?

I personally prefer Human PCs. Elven PCs are much more prone to being cliched than their Human counterparts. That is, of course, a general statement, and there are exceptions. Elves are a great race, but I think they need to be defined more closely than they currently are.

And, in reply to a post above, Kivan was one of the best, if not the best, NPC in Baldurs Gate. As an archer, he was practically unstoppable. The only other NPC with as much unbridled killing power was Coran, and he wasn't available until Chapter 5. Plus, Kivan was one of the most compelling NPCs in the game, for me at least.
