Elf or Human , whos better?

Well, as far as core rules only are concerned, the Monster Manual has some interesting wordings when describing goblin and elven tactics. The basically same tactics are called "cowardly" when employed by goblins and "smart" when employed by elves. Hiding in the foilage and sniping at the enemy for example.

Fair point, but cowardice or intelligence have nothing to do with alignment :)

Aren't exactly any other compelling reasons to play a half-elf ;)

I guess it depends on if you value an extra starting feat and 4 skill points (+1 for every level after 1st) over Speaking Common AND Elven, Immunity to Sleep effects, +2 vs. enchantments, Low-light vision, +1 Search, +1 Spot, +1 Listen and Elven Blood.

Damned straight!

well, you only speak both common and elven if you were raised by people who speak both. My half-elven bard was raised by her human father, her mother having died at birth, so she does not speak elven.

1/2 elves get +2 vs enchantments?. That's cool its like the iron will feat since virtually all will saves are enchantments. So if that was going to be in your feat chain the human advantage of bonus feat is virtually negated, so the bonus alnguage, +1 to 3 good skills, low light vision, and imunity to sleep only have to balance out with the skill point bonus of humans which i think it does. They'd make really good fighters who in my experience always take iron will, and with this can take iron will and double the benies and actually be resistant to hold spells and the like.

I'm currently in a party of elves. To quote my DM "I hate elves. Everyone has to be one..."

I pity the short lived races. I make friends, go out travelling and adventuring for a mere 40 or 50 years, and when I return they're all old or dead. :(
