ELH and multi-class characters

For those in the know. When can you take a level in an epic class? For example what if you are a:
Rog5/Rgr5/Brb5/Harper Scout 5

Could this character advance normally in Rog, Rgr, or Brb or would he take an epic level in one of those classes even though he has only achieved 5th level?

When your character level hits 20th, any class levels you increase beyond that point are epic levels. So, using your example, at 21st level, you could add one more level to any class that you have. Although, I'm not too sure about the Harper Scout. If it's a 10 level PrC, then you can continue to add levels to it to your heart's content.

Harper Scout is a 5 lvl PR class.
So, I presume the example character could take an epic level of Bard correct?

You would need to sit down with your DM and work this one out then. Most of the 5 level PrCs weren't designed to become epic.

Absolutely.
