Elven Archer

Hi Folks,
I was just wondering what prestige class (if any) would be an effective choice for a heavy hitting Elf Archer. I'm looking for something to do some solid damage (doesn't have to be min/maxed but something to help our other fighter). Does anyone have any suggestions? We can use pretty much any WOTC book. Thanks!

Peerless Archer from Silver Marches (FR) is a good archer PrC. Deepwood Sniper from Masters of the Wild is decent. I don't like the new OotBI much, as you have to give up your precious full attack to use its primary ability.

Arcane archer?

Sounds like you want a character with a lot of general utility instead of a primary fighter and arcane archer lets you mix spellcasting with archery.

If you have FRCS, I would play a cleric archer. Take the Elf domain (PBS for free) and the Zen Archery feat from Complete Warrior, you can use your WIS bonus to hit with ranged attacks. You are also a full progression caster, with all the necessary buff spells to help your fighter.

I recommend Solonor Thelandira for a deity. His favored weapon is the longbow.

Beat me to it, Ogre Mage. I played a cleric of Solonor, and she was just wicked with the bow.

The only drawback was that I had given her a high Dex, and a low Str, so she couldn't benefit from mighty composite bows (didn't take Zen Archery). But, she hit her targets a frighteningly high percentage of the time, even while Rapid Shotting.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, this PC is a 5th level Fighter already so I can't do the Archer/Cleric thing without taking the experience point hit due to the multi-class and I'd prefer not to do that. I did think about the Arcane Archer; OotBI and Deepwood Sniper but was seeing if there was anything else out there. Thanks for the responses!
