[EN World Book Club] On Writing by Stephen King (Discussion time!)

Read it awhile back. Very good book -- one of the few books on writing that I think is worth the price. Definitely helped me improve my stuff.

Oooh. Read this one before. Once I finish with Ringworld Throne, I'll start this one again so I can participate. :)

Okay, took me a while, but I finished it last night. Great read. Thanks for the suggestion mark.

Thanks for joining the "club" Floyd! :D

(How's the hand these days?) :\

Hand? Eh. The cold weather has really set it back. It feels bad, seems to have been set-back, but the tests/measurements my therapist does with it are positive. So I guess it's one of those "better then it looks/feels" things. I am guessing it will be at least a month still, maybe more before I can get back to work, in all reality. Something that I am not all that happy about. (Though now that I have been re-inspired by Mr. King and your fine suggestion, I might try and get some writing under my belt.)

Thanks for asking.

(Oh, for those that don't know and could actually care, I nearly severed\lost my left index and middle digits off in early September while splitting a 16' 2x4 with a circular saw. Luckily I managed to just barely scuff the bone only, and had a great hand doctor so I was able to keep all me digits.)

Hmm, reminds me, about when Stephen was talkign about his inury and the healing, I had the VAUGE idea and sympathy for him, having dealt with my own emergency hospital experience, though obviously a finger or two lost is NOTHING compared to what he went through, the poor man. But I still have an idea.

Oppss. Ignore that last part, it might be judged to be discussing the book...;

I read this over the summer and dug it. Very helpful. Probably as close as we'll come to a King autobiography as well.

Maybe people should mention in this thread when they have finished reading the book. If most of us are done well before the sixth, and those who aren't have read it before (and don't mind), perhaps we'll get the discussion started early? Thoughts?
