EN World vs. Talon

Well, have no doubt that I am 100% for free markets.

And I did not mean to imply that there would be hard feelings. Just that it will get interesting.

Talon was established before EN world and just found another market here. Good for him.

He became the semi-official on-line retailer of EN.
But now there is an official retailer.

While I am sure that Talon is happy to get every EN sell that comes his way, if he was doing fine before, he will continue to do fine in the future.

I doubt that a real large fraction of the EN world folks will be regulars for either option.

Further, I am sure that most satisfied Talon shoppers (including yours truly) will tend to stay with what has worked.

So it will be interesting to see how things break out.
How many people will decide to buy from EN instead of the local store?
How many of Talon's EN customer's will switch to EN?
Will future EN members who buy on-line be drawn more to the established reputation of Talon or the automatic association of EN?

I wish both sides the best. And based on attitudes previously expressed, I would be shocked and amazed to note any hard feelings from either side.

But I will still find it all very interesting.

If I should need to purchase something over the internet, I'll stick with Talon. This isn't to say that I'm against ENworld in any way. My reasoning is that-

I'm betting ENworld gets many many more hits than taloncomics.com, and thus more opportunities for sale.

I've dealt with Derek before and found him to not only be professional and quick, but incredibly friendly as well.

Good luck to both "sides".

I'm not a very big purchaser. In fact, I avoid purchasing anything for D&D. But if I do, in fact, find myself needing to buy some gaming supplies I will buy those from ENWorld. My reasoning is that ENWorld does not have a brick-and-mortar store to fall back on and Morrus has been trying very hard to just get the darned thing to pay for itself! With as much as I'm on the boards, I feel that I owe it to him to be his customer if I am anybody's customer.

Ill probably give ENWorld a try and if it works, split my orders between them. Why not just go with ENWorld 100%? Well, Talon has been very proactive about replying to me personally for two issues I had, and was honest with me about a delay with an item and the reason for it. That kind of service, honesty, and loyalty to customers is hard to come by, and deserves a few of my hard earned dollars now and again!

Lol... Well there's a subject line I've never imagined seeing. ;)

Mark is correct, I have a limited amount of Of Sound Mind that is autographed by Kevin Kulp aka PirateCat! They're going fast though.

I'd just like to say thanks for all the support I've gotten from you guys over the past year plus. I truly want to provide the best service I can in the manner that I would want provided for myself. Yeah, there are occasional bumps and hiccups. I'm only human! (Okay, demi-human... But's who notices that online? ;) )

Starting this weekend I will be having my 7th year anniversary as a brick & mortar store as well as my 1st year anniversary as an online store. You all have been really great and beginning Sunday I plan on thanking you guys with some store specials. :D

Here's to 2002 being an even better year for us all. :)

You mean you don't buy from Walt's little gaming shop in the back of the Sub Restraunt/Pizza/Bar in Poky across from the university? I am assuming it is still there... it was last time I came for a visit.

Talon all the way!

Nothing against EN, but Derek has given me the best customer service of any online retailer. He has now become the official store of my whole gaming group.
