ENnies winners?

That's very frustrating to hear. We didn't even come close to selling out, but we heard from a lot of people who couldn't find the game. I'm not sure if you were at the wrong booth, or what--the game was fairly prominently displayed, taking up the top two shelves of a bookrack display, and thus face out at about 3.5' off the ground, which should be about optimal. And yet lots of people apparently went right by it without spotting it. Must be the mostly-white cover.

Anyway, you can order direct from us on our website, right now. Though we won't be able to actually get anything shipped out until Tues or maybe Wed. We're working on other ways for y'all to buy Dread--stay tuned.

I went to the booth # on the ENnies handout, and I thought it said The Impossible Dream. But, of course, I should have been clued-in when I didn't see you there.... I had seen the copy in the ENnies booth display, so I was looking for the white cover, too. :\ Sorry I was unable to help lighten your load home. I will get it from one of the local shops here or your website.

Congrats on the win!

Obviously after winning a silver at the 2005 ennies, myself and the other folks with Planewalker had high hopes this year, and to that end we put more than a fair bit of work into the site's content. Well, we didn't win this time around, but I consider it a serious honor to simply have been among the nominees chosen by the judges. Serious kudos to the Yog-Sothoth guys for their gold win, as you've got some snazzy content (and I like CoC as well...), and likewise congrats to the Farland guys for the silver.

Hey, thanks, Shemeska. I was very excited about the win, because being in the same category as you guys and the other fan sites was intimidating!

In fact, I can honestly say that I was mega-impressed by every nominee I saw in every category. :D

All of the Farland crew was super fun at the ENnies... I don't remember who I was playing Apples to Apples with, but he was in a Farland shirt it was loads of fun.

Congrats on the ENnie!

I was anoyed that the company name didn't seem to be listed in the "big list of exhibitors" - I have no doubt that's why I couldn't find the booth myself! I decided to just order it from the website.

That's because we didn't have our own booth--we were being sold at the GPA booth. But the booth number was correctly listed on the ENnies flyer that listed all the nominees--though nobody seemed to notice that until i pointed it out. The other problem i think a lot of people may have had is that #1835 (the GPA booth) had two sides to it. I suspect a lot of people went to the 1800-row side of it, saw only Hero Games stuff, and didn't bother asking, but just moved on. If you'd asked, i'm sure they would've told you, and if you were simply browsing, you'd hopefully eventually come across the 1900 row and see the rest of the GPA products (including Dread). A lot of people apparently didn't even bother looking to see where we might be, and just assumed we were at the Forge booth, and went there. I didn't ask any of the people that told me that whether they asked the Forge folks, or just looked at the shelves and then silently went away [at least a couple of the Forge folks knew where to find us, though i suspect most didn't].

As others have said, its nothing to do with that at all. People voted as they felt appropriate. The winners deserved their wins, because this is a fan-based awards system, and the fans of the game voted as they felt was right. I for one congratulate all the winners for a job well done. :)

Being one of the authors of The Gates of Hell, I am of course curious as to what the edge was for the winners of our category - and, since the products are all free, it's just a download and some reading time. It's an exciting thing to see the absolute wealth of quality free gaming material available around the place.

I apologize on behalf of Dicefreaks in general for any message from members of our site who are only trying to stick up for a product they appreciate - like me, they are disappointed at missing out on a gold or a silver. However, being mentioned as a nominee alongside such names as White Wolf and Paizo is privilege, and it's no dishonor to have even come last amongst the nominees. (I don't know what we came, of course, just giving a hypothetical!) I certainly hope that the rest of you are spared from anyone else crying out on behalf of anyone who didn't nab a "gold" or a "silver".

Once again, congratulations to all the winners, and to all those nominated as well. :D

That is very true. Just being nominated says you were one of the top "x" top products in your category this year. I know the Tabletop Games crew said they were very thrilled to get their nomination. They are a great bunch of people, too. It was easy to feel very comfortable and relaxed with all of them.

I hope they give the Ennies the proper room with the proper number of tables and chairs next year. I plan on being there again!

I know I was sitting at the Farland booth and those folks rocked. I was flabbergasted when we won a silver for Spell Treasury! The competition was SO strong!

And, hey, those Green Ronin guys against the wall? I think they were glad for the wins just to get away from the "Wall of Great Heat and Sweat"!

Anyways, what a fun night!

Just got back to the UK after many a security check on the way.

We had a great time at the ENnies (and Gen Con) and it was a privilege to be up with the likes of Planewalker, Farland and all the nominees for Best Fan Site. We were just very happy to get nominated (and a free meal at the event - what gamer could ask for more?)!

Finally managed to post a news item on our front page, which also features an audio snippet for the Best Fan Site category.

A big thanks to all the Judges and Dextra & co. having worked in event organisation a while ago, I can appreciate just how much effort goes on to make everything work. Much kudos to you and everyone involved!

Did you get the whole thing on audio? Is there any chance we could grab a copy of it for the ENnies website?

Yes, got it all. No problem, I can send you the raw (MP3) file (93 MB, c. 1 hour 40 mins) and you can do with it as you will. Just let me know where to send it, and I can put it through www.yousendit.com
