Enterprise 10-23-02 (+ 10-16-02)

I think the point was that the Enterprise people had to jump through hoops to get something.

The focus also isn't on "respect everyones culture and work to preserve it crap", because if some recall, the episode "Cold Front" had the Enterprise crew serving as hosts for an alien religious cult while they observed "The Great Plume" in a stellar nursery. Not only were these guests alien and with their own culture, and religious with their own beliefs and customs, but they proved to be highly adaptable and open-minded, even choosing not to fast during the plume so that they could get to know their hosts.

In effect, the aliens they met in the last episode were just tightwads, nothing more. :)

Adding Info on Rerun of Season Premiere 10-23-02

Enterprise - Shockwave, Conclusion

In this taut episode, the Enterprise is surrounded by Suliban vessels and the sinister Silik (John Fleck) is insistent that Archer (Scott Bakula) surrender to him.

Archer, however, isn't onboard. He's stuck in the 31st century with time-traveler Daniels (Matt Winston), who plucked him from the past to save the future. But Archer's absence has caused a major ripple in time: The once vibrant city Daniels whisked him to is now decimated and deserted...and the Federation never existed. Meanwhile, back on the Enterprise, T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) allows the Suliban to board the ship

[rant]I thought it was an awful episode, much like most other enterprise episodes really. Weak humor, half-assed story lines, zero suspense or sense of true drama, no real action... bleah, can they really carry this drivel on for 7 seasons? Or is it time to finally put away the star trek franchise rather than perpetuating it through writers more suited to harlequin romances and serial space opera.[/rant]

The whole 'time travel' suliban storyline is crap regardless of how you look at it. I just hope they don't ever touch on it again.

The episode had one saving grace though, that being hoshi losing her shirt.

That's about it though.

I disagree. I rather like the time travel aspects of this show. They seem to be done in a more interesting manner than previously in the Trek franchise. I want to see more of this temporal cold war plotline. I just wish sports would get their own specific set of channels so that the millions of people who couldn't possibly care less about whatever silly game is being played could watch their shows without fear of preemption or premature rerunning.

I just can't believe they are doing reruns so soon.

Be advised that this was the only repeat. Next week is an ALL-NEW episiode. We now take you back to our regularly scheduled programming. :D

Yes, because you keep watching it.

Actually I don't exactly. I tape them then and rarely make it through an entire episode. That way I ensure that I waste as little of my life as possible watching them. ;)
