Saw it at midnight - it was good. Not perfect, but good. It's like the 4th/1st movie of the original trilogy, rather than the 3rd of the prequels.

The New Yorker's review is pretty hilarious. *SPOILER warning!*

You found it funny? I found it to be nothing but the pathetic ratings of a hate filled man and couldn't even finish reading it. It didn't even seem like a review, but a "I don't like Star Wars and can't understand how anyone does, so I'll vent some steam by ragging on it for a while."

Well, i saw it Saturday and liked it ok. Definitely the best of the three new ones. And General Grievous ROCKED! I already stole his name for an orc commander in a midnight campaign.

But unfortunately, i have to say that the acting and dialogue was a severe sore point for me. Painful and often dull comes close to how i interpreted the dialogue, and the acting was often wooden and uninspired.

But there were enough action highlights and spectacular effects to offset the damage done. And when Vader's helmet clamped on i truly felt chills, which is no result the first two inspired in me.

Wow, what an idiotic ass. Someone needs to ground him from his keyboard and give him a copy of Quality Movie Reviews For Dummies to read.

Can you tell we were born on the same day? ;)

Well, i agree with what he said about the dialogue. It really did suck. Bad.

I actually saw Clone Wars the cartoon last night and it absolutely ROCKED. I mean, it is what the prequels should have been. The cartoon might not have been top notch movie quality (it was from the guy that did PowerPuff Girls and it looks similar) but the action is relentless, and it introduces General Grievous as a real badass. It has plenty of Jedi action that showcases what these guys can really do when pissed off. I can't wait to watch it again and i can't say that about any of the prequels.

I've been reading them and salivating myself.

A minor quibble, though -- many of the reviewers are quite eager to assign political agendas to some rather generic-sounding lines of dialogue. :\

I'm thought it was obvious. Hell I thought that when watching Attack of the Clones. But I've got, some would say, extreme views on some of the stuff going on today ;) I can say no more on this BB.

I just hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. As for the guy in the New Yorker..well he probably thought The English Patient was gripping cinema so I doubt we have the same taste in movies.

The Clone Wars 'toons were interesting, but so over the top I had a hard time putting them in between the movies. According to those, during the battle on Geonosis durin AOTC Mace should have thrown down his saber and engaged the droid army in HTH. I mean he pretty much defeated a droid army by himself in the 'toon, half of the fight was saberless too.
