Erik Mona Has a Blog!

I liked the ethergaunts so much, I ported them over to Star Wars d20 and gave them Force powers. They were an 'invading entity from another dimension' baddy that scared both the Jedi and the Sith. (Actually had a couple of adventures where the two were cooperating!). I'm glad I know who designed them now. Good Show! and interesting blog.

I can sympathize with what Erik's doing. A blog is a place you can talk about your personal views and that's part of the fun of doing one. When I started my blog, it was specifically because I wanted a place where I could talk about whatever without it being seen as an official Green Ronin statement. I do talk about gaming and the game industry sometimes, but I also talk abut books, movies, random happenings, and the dreaded politics. I thought I was very clear that this was my personal blog. Nonetheless, about six months ago a retailer friend of mine tells me that some of his customers stopped buying GR products because of the political views expressed on my blog. Never mind that Green Ronin has seven staff people and not all of them share my politics. Never mind that we employ dozens and dozens of freelancers, some of whom I know (through their own blogs) have politics that are the polar opposite of mine. Such is the nature of the internet and such are the pitfalls of having a public persona.

So do you still post one? And if so, do you make it politics-free?

Sorry I forgot to mention "some political content" in my first post. If that offended anyone, I again apologize.

I do not see any reason to apologize, Erik. I am not offended. I just thought a spoiler tag was needed for the initial announcement.

No, no apology needed man. I was justing making an observation. I didn't think it would turn into this.

Insight, my post was short because I was on the phone. I meant to add that your post could turn into political debate... I didn't mean you were offending anyone ;)

I do. It's at http://www.chrispramas.com and it's mirrored at http://www.livejournal.com/users/freeport_pirate/ for LJ users.

And no, it's not politics free. I keep that out of Green Ronin's official site and whatnot, but I'm not about to censor my personal views because they upset a few people who can't stand the idea that someone might disagree with them.

Cool naked treehouse story, by the way. And yeah, where were these girls when I was 16? :D

If I was younger and unmarried.....things are just not the same as they were.

Of course, this sounds a lot like what my teenaged cousin told me about what this girl did to this guy in the physics lab at their high school. They would have been expelled a decade ago!

Not a good Idea!

See,

I think this is a bad decision for you Erik. As a person who is "Royalty" of sorts in the game industry. It just makes you a commoner like the rest of us, with likes, dislikes, things that tick you off etc.

It's a good thing I already let my subs to Dragon and Dungeon lapse or I definitely would have after reading about your feelings on Orson Scott Card.

I am rarely surprised by the politics of 'creative types' who live and work in Seattle.

I mean, really.

Anyone whose politics are sufficiently to the right to be offended, should know enough not to be "blind-sided."

Haven't read the blog yet, but...

Threads like these make me feel secure in my decision to dislike all people everywhere regardless of their political affiliation. Come on now, the man posted a link to his blog. He didn't kick your dog, lure your daughter into a life of drugs and hedonism, or sneak up to your house in the middle of the night and plant signs for his political campaign on your lawn. Give the guy a break.

Erik, I for one have always enjoyed your editorials and intend to check out your blog. And I promise not to come back here and whine about your politics, whatever they happen to be.
