Erik Mona Has a Blog!

Come on now, the man posted a link to his blog. He didn't kick your dog, lure your daughter into a life of drugs and hedonism, or sneak up to your house in the middle of the night and plant signs for his political campaign on your lawn.

That's tomorrow's topic! :D

I personally think comments about his blog should be directed to him (via e-mail or via comments on his blog), not here. Especially the political comments. If you don't like his politics, tell him, not me!

I agree with Eric N. on this -- better to let Erik M. know your feelings more directly than start a politics discussion here about it.

And Finally...

Well, he didn't do it to you, but he did to me! What about little Rover and Becky, huh, Erik!?!!? What about little ROVER and BECKY!?!?!

(I had to give Becky 3 Liver Treats before she felt better, the poor thing...)

Well, Erik did kick my dog. And I'll never forgive him! :p

Oh wait, that's my alternative universe self as I actually don't have a dog and man, let's remeber that even when we don't agree with what someone says, people have died for us to have the right to say it.

Now I'm imagining naming a daughter "Rover".

Then again, Penn Jillette named his daughter "Moxie Crimefighter".

I agree with the concept BelenUmeria is talking about. (I haven't visited the blog.) Posting a thread inviting D&D fans to a site with some D&D material mixed in with political commentary, based on the blogger's fame in the D&D realm is a tad impolite. It's not a huge deal. It's not worth arguing over. But it is worth noting in the thread the blog was introduced. And that's all BelenUmeria did; he noted it.

And in noting it, he warned me. I probably won't bother reading it, myself, based on that warning. Not because of a risk of being offended, but rather, as he said, "I get enough politics every day that I do not need them worming their way into my hobby too."

People were more rude to him and his statement of his opinion than he was to Erik Mona.

Aside from one mean post about Orson Scott Card, I'm actually fairly surprised that people got bent out of shape about the political posts. I really, really, really don't think that what I've posted is contraversial in the least, but I guess everyone looks at politics from a different point of view.

In any event, I welcome people to check out the blog if they want, and ignore it if they want. Whatever.

After writing several posts about D&D, I figured that some folks here would be interested in giving it a look.

If you disagree with something I've posted online, I encourage you to post a comment on my blog. That's what they're there for, after all.

I like reading these blogs, actually. I like knowing who these people are aside from their gaming personas, and whether I agree with them or not is irrelevant; I am, after all, going into their own little personal domains. I haven't encountered anyone who was disrespectful or outright offensive, which would mean that I simply not visit their blog anymore.

I think we should make a list of all the gamer publisher types with links to their blogs. Seems like we have quite a few of them: off the top of my head there's Erik Mona, Gareth-Michael Skarka, Chris Pramas, Nicole Lindross, Jeff Grubb, Philip J. Reed, and myself. ;)

Who else? I know there's a lot more.
