Errata changes to Ogre Mage

While reading the interesting debate on Mike Mearls's remake of the Ogre Mage, I decided to read the actual listings for it in the SRD. I also took a quick look at the Monster Manual v3.5 Errata, and there I came across something a bit puzzling. Here's the errata entry:

Remove polymorph from spell-like abilities.
Change Shape (Su): An ogre mage can assume the form of any Small, Medium, or Large humanoid or giant.

This, to me at least, means that the once a day spell-like ability of polymorph has been dropped in favor of a Supernatural ability which is not restricted to once a day. The only other Supernatural ability possessed by the ogre mage is flight, which is not limited. How would you interpret this?
