Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

"So long as neither you nor your dragon provoke me, I see no reason to kill it. Though you are testing my patience rolling me in with those of my brethren who think they know what is best for every single person regardless of those people's relations to the Gods of the Paladins." Zerin says with a smile, he then looks at the messy state of the Tavern and says "Though maybe it would be for the best if you moved your Dragon out to the stables or something instead of keeping it inside of a Tavern meant for the smaller species?" With that said, Zerin returns his Warhammer to its strap on his belt.

"You wish to loose your mount to dragon's appetite, paladin? The dragons are noble creatures, intelligent and ancient, they do not belong into the stables." the boy from the table nearby ignores the exchange until dragons rights are touched.
"If you need to tell him something, tell him directly."

Zerin looks over at the table that this boy is speaking from and then says "My Mount? Why would I need such a thing? I am a shifter, I do not ride other creatures when my own legs are more than capable of taking me where I need to go." He then looks back towards the Dragon and the man he had been speaking to previously, "From the looks of things, that Dragon is little better than a mount now anyways. Though far be it from me to keep one of the most dangerous creatures in the world from dining at a Tavern built for Humans and others of the smaller races, when it itself is much much larger than us.

"Only danger of dragons come from humanoids who wish to make a name from themselves. Right, Sharpe? Most of them prefer solitary life, staying away from civilization. If you approach them with peace in heart and curiosity in mind, they are willing to share their wisdom. Approach with respect, but not fear just like you would other knight or wizard."

The boy stands and is now preaching to the tavern in general more then just this one paladin.

Malifixindalaunt, help me here, don't let yourself be treated like that even by oblivious fools. Don't kill him, just talk some sense into him.[/sblock]

As he stands, big tatoo of two battling dragons can be seen. The dragons seem to move of their own as if alive on the boys skin.

"Like I said, I have no qualms with Dragons in general. They are perhaps the greatest of Nature's creatures and for that I honor them. Though truth be told, I am not the one that has the final say here, I am sure the Tavern Owner is not all that fond of having to clean up the mess this Dragon made of his Tavern.

Truth be told, I am very fond of Dragons though, the Chromatics especially. But don't take my word for it."
After saying this, Zerin removes from under his armor the Chain that reveals his Holy Symbol. That of the God of War, Maros. "I am afterall a Paladin of War. I just don't like the thought of dining in a Tavern that has become a virtual disaster area thanks to one of these, no offense Lord Dragon."

Well if they did not want a dragon crashing through the roof, they would have made the doors bigger, that is the way I look at it, Sharpe says. The dragon seems to be too busy sleeping to hear what Zerin said.

Anywho, has anyone found some adventure yet? I figure since I got a dragon in the last one maybe I could get a dungeon in the next. Dragons and dungeons go together like... bread and butter, Elves and hygiene, or bards and dragons!

"Most Taverns in this world cater to humanoids, not to those of Draconic blood, at least not to those of Draconic blood who cannot take the form of humanoids or who are not already humanoids." Zerin tries to explain half exasperated.

"Sharpe," Felix calls out, "If we get you a dungeon, are you staying in it? I'm sure we could start a pool of donations if that's the case. Everyone would love for you to be go- er... glad."

He beams a smile in Sharpe's direction.

It would make a nice vacation spot. And of course I would have to set up the traps and find some monsters to move in. Perhaps I could find a tribe of Kobold rogues, I hear they are very deadly. I will also have to get some kind of magical object of ultimate power to lure adventurers in, can't have a dungeon without the threat of adventurers. he says.

A new arrival to the Hanged Man

OOC: assuming the time in the tavern is night-time-ish

An obviously female figure clad in heavy clothing approaches the door from outside. She is about to lay her hands on the door but pulls her gloved hand back when she realizes there's been some damage to the structure. Instead she carefully skirts around the open doorway and into the room.

"Oi, what's yer name lass?" the nearby bouncer demands. The small-ish girl perks up turns to face the man and pulls back her hood, shaking her long, braided brown hair free of its confines, and wiping the corners of her mouth reflexively, as if she tasted something unpleasant. Her features are plain but rather pretty in that girl-next-door sort of way, with light green eyes and faint freckles dotting her otherwise fair skin. She appears to be just barely out of her teens and into her early twenties, if that.

"Oh... hello there," she says hesitantly, "My name is Vanessa."

"Enjoy y'self V'nessa, mind the dragon," the bouncer tosses a glance towards the other part of the room nonchalantly.

"Oh my," Vanessa gasps a little, "I'll do that."

The young woman removes her long leather gloves and tucks them into her belt as she moves further into the room. She seems to be carrying light adventurers gear and heavy traveller's clothes, but isn't wearing any obvious armor. A sheathed dagger rests on her right thigh. A crossbow is slung over her right shoulder, seeming somewhat precariously braced against her backpack.

Vanessa scans the room locates a small, intact table and chair and has a seat, gratefully unloading her pack and crossbow onto the floor next to her. After unwinding for a moment she orders a small snack platter (bread, cheese, nuts, etc) and bottle of common wine.

She retrieves a small block of wood from her pack and her dagger and begins carving, mindful to keep wood shavings out of her snack platter. She remains quiet, but interested in the goings on around her and not at all unapproachable.

OOC: Character is still pending approval but more than happy to roleplay with those present... since i just came in could someone give me a brief rundown of who's here int he tavern with us?
